REGULATES SOIL TEMPERATURE
In Texas summers, bare soil can heat up fast and stress your plants' roots. A good layer of mulch acts like insulation — keeping soil cooler when it's scorching and warmer during those surprise cold snaps.

RETAINS MOISTURE
Mulch slows evaporation so your soil stays moist longer between waterings. In a place where water bills are no joke, that adds up fast.

SUPPRESSES WEEDS
A 2–3 inch layer blocks sunlight from reaching w**d seeds. Fewer w**ds = less work for you (and us 😄).

FEEDS YOUR SOIL
Mulch breaks down over time, adding nutrients back into the soil naturally. It's basically a slow-release fertilizer.

When is the BEST time to install sod in DFW? Let's talk about it.

Here in North Texas, timing is everything and the sweet spot is soil temps between 55–75°F. That's when roots establish fastest and your new lawn gets the strongest start.

✅ SPRING (March–May): Soil temps are climbing into that ideal range. Roots take hold quickly and you head into summer with a healthy, established lawn.

✅ FALL (September–November): Temps drop back into the zone, water needs are lower, and sod has time to root before winter. Honestly? Our favorite time to install.
