In 2012, two passionate dance companies, SOL Ballet Folklórico of Fort Worth and Alegre Ballet Folklórico of Dallas, came together with a bold idea: to create a show that transcended competition, boundaries, and borders.

Some people build the stage for generations to come.
This year, Sin Fronteras is honored to present the inaugural Folklórico Legacy Award to Anita N. Martinez, a visionary whose passion for our culture helped shape the folklórico community we celebrate today.
Because of leaders like Anita, traditions were preserved, young dancers found their purpose, communities came together, and Mexican culture continued to flourish through the art of dance.
The Sin Fronteras Folklórico Legacy Award was created to recognize those whose life's work has forever changed our community. There could be no more deserving first recipient.
We honor a pioneer.
We honor a mentor.
We honor a trailblazer.
Thank you, Anita N. Martinez, for proving that one person's passion can leave an impact that lasts for generations.
