It’s going to be one of those days…

What can I say?

I came.
I saw.
I conquered.

OSUT is complete, I graduated with honors (excellence in armor) and I’m coming home.

On June 14th, 1775 the U.S. Army was established by the continental congress. Today we celebrate the Army’s 250th Birthday.

20 weeks ago I ran under the arches at the thunder run and began basic training. 10 weeks ago I crosss brave rifles field and became a soldier in the U.S. Army and today at 0345 I marched, with a ruck on my back, to the thunder run once again.

I earned my sabers and became a cavalry scout.

It’s been a long journey up until this point and I can’t wait to see what the future brings. Two weeks from now I’ll get to come home and see my loved ones again.

Thank you all for your love and support while I push through.

Happy Star Wars day from Empire troop 5-15 Cavalry regiment!!!

Hey everybody, here’s the sitrep…

The last ten weeks I’ve been at 19D Cavalry OSUT at Ft. Benning, Ga.

After many trials, tribulations and a sh*tload of push-ups, I can now officially call myself a U.S. Army soldier.

I’ve made it to the halfway point. The next twelve weeks, I’ll be finishing the AIT portion of my training, where I’ll be learning how to be a cavalry scout.

I’ve wanted to serve ever since I was a child, but until last year I didn’t think it was possible.

Moral of the story: Never stop chasing your dreams.

Now I’m a 29 year old pfc. I feel like an old man around these kids, especially in my knees. Nevertheless, I’m happier and prouder than I’ve ever been.

I can’t wait to tell you all about the rest of this journey and I should be back home just in time for . God bless the USA!!!
