This is what happens to the inside of a tree infected with Ganoderma fungus.
 Ganoderma is a silent tree killer. But it’ll most likely destroy something else when the rotten tree falls. It’s rotten on the inside but had a full green canopy. This page is limited by fb. Go look at my personal page for the full Details and more pictures.

Over pruning or storm damage can cause sun scald. It also happens when there’s a lack of good circulation, which helps cool the limbs or the trunk.
