George Rodriguez is a Democrat running for Congress in Texas' 32nd District. Public service has always been at the core of George Rodriguez.
Whether he is mentoring high school students or young attorneys, community and education have always been a top priority. George is a first-generation American who has been practicing immigration law for over 20 years. His parents escaped communist Cuba just in time for George to be born in Dallas. He is a product of DISD, graduating from the Public Services Government and Law Magnet. After gradua
ting from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in political science and Italian, he returned to Dallas where he worked as an Administrative Aid for a Texas State representative while attending SMU law school. George has been recognized by his peers for his professionalism and ethics by being rated an AV-Preeminent attorney. For over 30 years, George has been volunteering to develop leadership skills in young Latinos throughout Dallas. He is of counsel to the Board of the National Hispanic Institute (NHI) and serves as a trustee on the NHI Board. He is also currently serving on the Bishop’s Immigration Task Force for the Diocese of Dallas. He is involved in reviewing the DHS detention standards as part of the Prairieland Detention Center’s Community Advisory Board which is the newest detention center in North Texas. With his college sweetheart and wife of 26 years, Michelle, George is the co-founder of the law firm of Saenz-Rodriguez & Associates where he has dedicated over 20 years of his career to uniting immigrant families and bringing employers and needed global talent together. George and Michelle are the proud parents of two wonderful children, George Nicolas and Bella. George believes in creating OPPORTUNITY for oneself AND for others. Opportunity means many things – but especially creating better public education, fair and equal wages for women, and universal and affordable healthcare for all Americans. As an immigration lawyer, George knows that we need to simplify our immigration laws to bring opportunity and fairness to immigrants and a pathway to success to America. George believes it is important to create a narrative for America and for Texas through a new dialogue that values our differences and includes the talents in our diverse communities. George knows that creating opportunity for others is our ultimate responsibility in life and the leadership that the Citizens of District 32 want and deserve!
