For many people, the symbols are the first place they go when studying Revelation:

* the beast,
* 666,
* Babylon,
* the dragon,
* Armageddon,
* the mark,
* and the mysterious imagery throughout the book.

But where do these symbols come from?

Are they random mysteries?
Or has God been building these themes throughout Scripture all along?

Over the last year, we’ve walked through:

* Genesis,
* the prophets,
* the teachings of Jesus,
* the judgments,
* and the larger conflict between the kingdom of God and the rebellion of mankind.

Now we begin tracing the symbolic world of Revelation itself:
where these images first appear,
how they develop throughout Scripture,
and what they ultimately reveal.

This message is not about conspiracy theories or speculation.

It is about discernment.
It is about spiritual maturity.
It is about learning how Scripture explains Scripture.

Hebrews 5:14 says:
“But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
