So blessed I have this little pumpkin to call me mama! Samantha, you mean more than the world to me 💕

If the umpire were counting curveballs, how many would he say have been thrown your way this season? As for me, I think we all lost track around 20.

This year I’ve struggled with moving back to the states, trying to make new friends in my new city, being a solopreneur, adjusting to this norm and being the best mom I can be!
🍼👶🏻
I would be lying if I said it’s been “easy”. And yesterday was definitely hard when I took Sami for her 15 month checkup. Overall, it went great but I couldn’t help feel the mom shame because she isn’t hitting all her milestones. After spending a couple hours last night researching and indulging in my secret stash of dark chocolate, I realized something – I am stronger than all of this and I AM AMAZING!
💕
And if you’re reading this, you are too! We’re stronger and better than we think we are, and we’ll get through this too. Tag a friend who needs to hear it!

I'm so excited to FINALLY share the ⭐ NEW ⭐ logo, branding and website for my client !

Britani was getting ready to celebrate her 10 year anniversary and hiring an associate. She knew her law firm needed a refresh to her website and brand.

When we first chatted, I asked her what do you want to see in your new brand and website? She wasn’t quite sure. She loves the color pink but didn’t want to use it because she didn’t want to look like Elle Woods. After chatting about her clients and her approach to their cases, we came up with four keywords: compassionate, trustworthy, professional & approachable.

I wanted to make sure that when a potential client came to her site, they knew right away that they would be caring for them as if they were part of their family. To help get all these feelings across, I was mindful of the colors and images that I chose.

I chose a navy blue color as her main color because it gives a trustworthy feeling. And then I used a soft blush pink color for accents to showcase off her compassionate and approachable side (without looking like Elle 😉 ). Then to give it that extra professional feeling, I incorporated gold and marble.

I designed her WordPress website using . I love it because it gives my clients the freedom to make small updates to their own website. The visual drag and drop interface makes it so user-friendly!

It was so much fun designing the logo and elements for this brand and then bringing them all to life on their website. The best part of working with Britani was that she really let me take the reins and use my own expertise and knowledge to create a memorable website that TRULY reflects the quality of her law firm.

Does your website do that? DM me if I can help!

Are you having a rough month? You’re not alone, friend! The past month has been a struggle for myself to say the least.

Whenever I’m struggling, simply thinking about how much of an impact I make to Sami and seeing her precious smile helps motivate me to keep on keeping on. It only takes me saying her name or putting a block on my head to get her to break into a full on belly laugh. She really gets a kick out of the small things!

Which got me thinking, if the small things that I do make her so happy,, then why am I beating myself up over the small stuff?

And in case you need a little extra boost this Monday, consider this post your virtual fist bump or pat on the back. What keeps you going during hard times?

Raise your hand if you’ve ever had a bad day. C'mon, we all have (and lately it seems like they have been a little too frequent)!

Whenever I do, I like to blow off steam by simply going for a run. I need that time to be one with my thoughts and focus on what really is bothering me. Don't get me wrong! Sometimes playing with Samantha can shake my blues away, but sometimes mommy needs a little space to clear her head.

Whether your Tuesday is off to a good or bad start, I’m sending you ALL good vibes, ALL the time!

How do you shake away the blues when you experience a bad day?

Enough said! 🙏

I wish I didn’t have to post this… it shouldn’t even be a thing anymore!

I am heart broken. I am outraged. I am speechless. And I know that what I am feeling is only a sliver of what the black community has experienced for generations and generations. And I am truly sorry for this.

I understand that I will never understand, but I stand.

Change starts within ourselves and at our homes in order to change the world!

Should we get a little vulnerable today? I say, why not?! I’m a recovering perfectionist. I have struggled to show myself the same grace I show others when I make mistakes, but am working every day to turn things around.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lately, I remind myself that I am only human and it's ok if I make mistakes. Doing my best is better than doing nothing at all.

What’s a struggle you’re facing? And how do you fight it?

Still one of my favorite branding projects to date!

Make it Laine is a young baker with a heart of gold! This little girl specializes in cakes and cupcakes in the Columbus, OH area. And now she even offers something for her furry besties – yummy dog treats!
🎂🐶
For the branding, we went with a vibe that is bright, fun and whimsical. I designed a logo that plays off sprinkled cookies. Her sprinkles pattern helps showcase that she isn’t afraid to take any “whisks”.

What do you think? Is this logo & branding sweet or what?

Did you ever have a lemonade stand growing up? I did, which was probably foreshadowing my entrepreneurship tendencies from very early on!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I remember creating an over the top sign and setting up a very detailed stand in front of my house. It was so much fun, despite the that I spent more time designing then selling!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So tell me, friend, did you ever have a lemonade stand, and was your venture successful?

Mother’s Day is over so back to the grind. But man oh man did it feel good to not be sporting a messy bun for a day!

I haven’t done my hair in months. To be completely honest, I HATE blow drying it! I don’t see the point. It typically dries straight within 20 minutes so why not do something more useful of my time.

But now that I’m a mom (and not going anywhere), I find myself mastering the messy bun everyday.

I give mad props to all the stay at home moms who have always fully gotten ready each day.
