Talk about being part of history! 📸
CC Young Resident Joan was recently interviewed by The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza after being identified as a young mother in historic video footage from President John F. Kennedy’s motorcade in Dallas on November 22, 1963. For years, she appeared in the Museum’s video as an unknown person in the crowd.
Even more remarkable, Joan recently found the exact scarf she was wearing that day and wore it during her interview, adding a special personal connection to the story.
Now featured as part of the Museum’s rotating video experience, Joan’s story offers a remarkable connection to a meaningful moment in Dallas history.
We are proud to see Joan’s story recognized as part of Dallas history and grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the experiences and memories that make each Resident’s story so meaningful.
Have a unique story to share? We’d love to hear it!

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, a time to recognize the importance of supporting brain health at every age. 💜
At CC Young, supporting brain health is part of everyday life. Through Tai Chi, art classes, music, lifelong learning, games with friends, fitness programs and meaningful social connection, Residents have opportunities each day to stay active, engaged, and inspired.
This month and every month, we are proud to celebrate the small daily moments that nurture overall well-being, purpose and joyful connection.

At CC Young, staying active is about more than movement. It is about supporting strength, connection and overall well-being.
Wellness Program Manager and Instructor Tammy Slauson brings deep experience in movement therapy, senior wellness and working with individuals who have cognitive, neurological and physical disabilities.
Through Music and Movement, Gentle Exercise, yoga and Rock Steady Boxing, Tammy helps Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Residents stay engaged in ways that support their physical, cognitive and emotional needs.
Residents love Tammy’s energy and look forward to her classes, where she is always bringing new ideas, encouragement and creativity to help make movement meaningful.
We are grateful for Tammy’s passion, expertise and commitment to helping Residents live with confidence and purpose. 💜
We’re still recovering from prom season. 😅
CC Young’s assisted living celebrated in style with denim & diamonds, while independent living danced the night away under the sea. From packed dance floors to lots of laughter (with a bit of spiked punch 😉) these celebrations captured what the CC Young Senior living community is all about. 💃🕺🏼
At CC Young Senior living, community means more than care. It means friendship, belonging, laughter, and finding new reasons to celebrate at every stage of life. Whether you come with a dance partner, a group of friends, or show up solo, you can absolutely sit at our table. 💙💜

Our Sign Language Club brings residents together every Monday to learn, practice, and explore the art of communication in a whole new way.
Beyond learning new signs, activities like these support memory, creativity, and cognitive health, all while building friendships and sharing moments of discovery.
Because learning something new keeps the mind active and the CC Young community connected. 🤟💜

Happy Nurses Week! 💙 Today, we’re highlighting Krystal Mitchell and the incredible compassion she brings to CC Young Senior Living and the Dallas community through our Private Care services.
For more than 20 years, Krystal has dedicated her career to caring for others, and for the past 3 years, she has helped lead our Private Care team with kindness, professionalism, and heart. Whether she’s supporting residents on campus or helping Dallas seniors remain independent in their own homes, Krystal always goes above and beyond to make sure people feel cared for, seen, and supported.
From coordinating resources for residents in need to brightening someone’s day with a visit from a beloved dog named Peppermint, Krystal’s impact reaches far beyond nursing care. Families often describe her as their “saving grace” and “guardian angel” — and we couldn’t agree more.
Thank you, Krystal, for the difference you make every single day! ✨
