Meet Maria Aguayo, our 2026 Women Buildhomeowner!
As a single mother of four and grandmother of three, she’s been working toward a dream of creating stability and opportunity for her family. Through Women Build, that dream is becoming real—thanks to a community showing up to support what will last for generations.

Students from St. Mark's School of Texas and The Hockaday School recently met the Chavez family, new Dallas Habitat homeowners, whose home they helped make possible. 💙

From raising funds to helping build this home, they played a direct role in this journey. Seeing that connection come full circle is what this work is all about.

As these students get ready to graduate, they carry forward the impact they’ve helped create over the past 20 years of partnership with Dallas Habitat.

The impact is already there—but the opportunity isn’t always equal.

Women are playing a major role in shaping housing decisions every day. The next step is making sure more women have the access and support to fully step into that power. That’s where community comes in.

When we work together, we can help open doors that have been closed for far too long. Help us open doors for our neighbors: https://ow.ly/E2cV50Z8mVz

Real change doesn’t happen by chance, it happens when people show up 💙

Every volunteer hour, every partnership, every act of support helps build possibility for families working toward affordable homeownership. When we come together like this, we’re not just helping build homes—we’re opening doors.

Our President & CEO, Ashley Brundage, joined Congresswoman Julie Johnson (TX-32) and local partners for a conversation on housing solutions in Dallas. The discussion built on Access to Homeownership Act, creating more pathways for renters to move toward homeownership.

Ashley grounded the conversation in dignity:
“We don’t need people to prove that they’re poor, we need to help them get a home.”
We're grateful to be part of work that moves our community forward.

Opportunity at home can change everything.

When women have the ability to own a home, it creates stronger foundations—not just for their families, but for entire communities. It’s a ripple effect that starts at the front door and reaches far beyond it. Be part of the impact: https://ow.ly/IrYi50Z7IZT
