All come from really tough places. 😢 Renegade’s (boy) dad is a veteran with PTSD who has become homeless and made the difficult decision to give his dog a better life. Huckleberry (boy) comes from a terrible hoarding situation and is very frightened and slow to trust. And Scout (girl) comes from a breeding/hoarding situation and also terrified, but slowly making progress.
I can tell you from experience, there’s no greater feeling in the world than fostering a dog from a tough place and seeing what changes are possible with a little love and understanding.

Short-term fosters urgently needed • 3 to 4 Weeks

The rescue we foster with, Highway Hounds Rescue, has several dogs who urgently need fosters for the next 3 to 4 weeks. They already have families waiting for them up north, but Colorado has closed the borders for all animals going in and out until April 11th. We’re taking one in tomorrow, but there are several more who need fosters.

They need out of the shelter ASAP.
First-time fosters are ok!

At the Harris County Animal Shelter (Houston, TX), Paris is terrified. Whenever anyone goes by her shelter cage, she cringes with fear; nothing familiar remains in her life – no more familiar smells, no more familiar humans – no more of anything that once made her feel safe and loved.

Her family was moving, and no plans were made to include Paris. She was told to sit; she obeyed and then they walked away. After being in a house with her family, she thought she would be with them forever. Suddenly she is an overcrowded environment with strangers.

Paris is 4 years old, weighs 56 pounds, tested negative for heartworms. Her ID .
