Dallas Water Commons

This November, Texans will vote on Proposition 4. It would constitutionally dedicate $1B per year to the Texas Water Fund—without raising taxes. Funds would support critical infrastructure like new water supplies, repairs, and conservation through 2047.

On November 4, Texans will vote on a constitutional amendment to dedicate a portion of state sales tax revenue to the Texas Water Fund, supporting water infrastructure projects through 2047 (Dallas Regional Chamber).

Associates of the Dallas Water Commons team joined fellow water advocates, policymakers, and visionaries at the Texas Water Foundation’s 2025 Rainmaker Award ceremony. Rep. Cody Harris was honored for his instrumental role in advancing House Joint Resolution 7, a landmark measure that lays the foundation for dedicated, long-term funding for Texas water infrastructure.

It was an evening not only recognizing present legislation but the decades of bipartisan advocacy that have made this meaningful moment in Texas water policy possible. In a state where water challenges are vast and growing, the momentum behind water solutions, infrastructure and conservation is both smart and practical.
