Having had the privilege to speak at their events early in my career, I can personally attest to the vital role they played in empowering women in this field.

Sustaining such organizations is a monumental challenge. As the founder of DevelopHer, I understand these struggles intimately. I'm celebrating not one, but TWO anniversaries today! Today marks 12 YEARS since I got back into tech and 6 YEARS since I founded DevelopHer.

12 years ago, I had zero tech skills, zero network, and 90 days to prove myself. I would go on to win the company-wide award in that first 90 days and then 3 more times in the next two years.

I then went on to win several high-profile hackathons including SXSW 2x and got an exclusive invite to attend the UK G8 Innovation Conference.

My work was featured in multiple Apple keynotes, including the groundbreaking iOS 7 launch keynote.

I did this all in under 2 YEARS!

Then, 6 years ago, I founded DevelopHer with a single podcast episode (and I didn't know a thing about podcasting).

I would go on to keynote huge women in tech conferences to standing ovations, including Google invitations 3x! Big-name tech companies like Dell Technologies, CrowdStrike, and Chewy all brought me in to help their women stand out.

I've won 22 awards for my work with DevelopHer, including multiple recognitions by the United Nations.

And, I'm just getting started....

The difference between 'A' players and the rest of the pack is that 'A' players go out and get the change they want for themselves.

If you want change, you have to be willing to invest in yourself. Invest in the change you want.

If you won't invest in yourself, why should anyone else invest in you?

Over the course of my career, I've invested tens of thousands of dollars in myself and my career to get the change I wanted.

My only regret looking back is that I didn't invest in myself sooner!

Because I've invested in myself, I've leapfrogged peers, accomplished incredible feats and more than quintupled my base salary! If that's not a return on my investment, I don't know what is!
