L. (Learning with the Understanding and Vision for Education), was founded in 2011 by Ruby Clarice Dickerson. Dickerson initially had a vision to assist high school dropouts in her community, improve their basic educational skills, obtain their GED, and become productive citizens. At 96, Violet Edwards proves it’s never too late to chase your dreams. The South Florida resident recently earned her Associate’s Degree in liberal arts from Mercy College in New York, completing her studies online from her Parkland apartment. Raised in humble beginnings in Jamaica, Edwards put her education on hold for decades to support her family. However, she never let go of her goal—turning her lifelong dream into reality more than 70 years later. 🎓👏

He proved it’s never too late!👏🏾 At 101, Merrill Pittman Cooper achieved his lifelong dream of earning a high school diploma.
He attended Storer College in the 1930s but left during senior year for financial reasons.
With family support, he received an honorary diploma in a special March 19 ceremony.

Katherine Johnson was an African-American mathematician whose work was fundamental at NASA. His precise calculations helped ensure the success of the Mercury and Apollo space missions, including the historic Apollo 11 moon landing. His life and work were immortalized in the film "Hidden Figures."
