Today, we celebrate the Juneteenth Holiday.
Dr. Marlow McGuire, DBA's Director of Pastor Health, reflects in this way on this special holiday:

“Juneteenth (short for ‘June Nineteenth’) marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, in 1865 to ensure that all enslaved people were freed. The troops’ arrival came two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end of slavery in the United States for all people. As we reflect upon the extraordinary diversity of the churches that make up the Dallas Baptist Association, we join in the national celebration of Juneteenth and acknowledge the resilience of a group of people who have displayed remarkable faith in God during very challenging times. We are grateful, particularly for our African American churches and the unique contributions they bring to reaching our area with the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Camp begins today at Mt. Lebanon, a ministry of DBA for over 80 years. Last week, Dr. Eddie Walker, Executive Director, shared with summer staff about the history of Baptists, what it means to be a Baptist camp and a church-centric camp, our staff culture, and the fact that we share the gospel in an age-appropriate way every single camp.

A joy to host the ABCD network of churches/pastors in our office today! We are grateful for the care these pastors have for each other!

We hosted a lunch for our Pastors and leaders at Texans on Mission, where David Miranda, Marlow McGuire and Ryan Welch led a great panel discussion on engaging younger generations. DBA is so grateful for the good work of Texans on mission!!

The Dallas Baptist Association celebrates with Pastor Josh Prince along with his wife Jessica upon his completion of a Doctor of Ministry degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

The Dallas Baptist Association extends its congratulations to Pastor Ruben Rios on completing his Doctor of Ministry degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

This past Sunday, we joyfully celebrated with Pastor Chuck Nash and the Mt. Horeb Beltline family the 6th anniversary of the congregation's founding and the transfer of the deed from Texas Baptists of their building.

Today we gather!! Grateful for our Pastors and Leaders lunch happening today at Texans on Mission!! We will welcome new churches, discuss business, and hear a great panel discussion on reaching a younger generation and the role that service plays in that!!!! So grateful for how God is using Mickey Lenamon to lead Texans on Mission!!!
