This handsome, personable, 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝, 𝟭𝟬-𝘆𝗿-𝗼𝗹𝗱, 𝟭𝟰.𝟯𝗛𝗛, 𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 used as avid mountain explorer & trail blazer. The problem - ‘Pappy the Appy’ is just too tall for ‘Grappy’ to mount from the ground this year so… I have had him here at the feedlot getting him tuned up & 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 here!

‼️ Since Pappy arrived here it was evident that he had a good foundation at some point but also that he obviously hadn’t been rode consistently enough to have been made into a solid citizen as of yet. He showed signs that somewhere along the line he learned that he could make the decisions on what types of adventure was going to be had & he did this by toughening up in the face & throwing a little sass out if he objected to my ideas.

✅ I now have him where he understands that I get to decide the adventures we will have but, without a doubt, he should still have a few more months of this type of consistent riding by a firm horseperson before I would say to you that he will retain this new found attitude where you turn out for the winter & have that perfect horse you waiting for you come spring (he is 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟, it is just his new abilities he might forget about).

🧐 𝑨 𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒐 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒙𝒕: I had been riding Pappy for about 6 weeks when the 🙎‍♂️ had a big weekend trail ride where they ended up being short of a horse, so they came & got Pappy because he had been working great for me. The 🙎‍♂️ that rode Pappy on that trail ride was a dedicated weekend warrior but with little authority & Pappy figured this out in 5 seconds & well ya… you know the rest of the story. He came back to me needing a quick, firm reminder of who was riding him & then he quickly bowed back into compliance & has been continuing like that since.

➡️ Now… with all this being said. 𝑯𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒖𝒄𝒌, 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒍𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒅 𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕. He will just (sometimes) test his riders mood, personality or ability by sassing what is asked of him - like a human that is all talk but no action or a teenager who is testing authority 😉 (tail swishing, not being soft in the mouth, tries to go in a different direction just to gauge you, pretends he is scared of something, that type of sass - he doesn’t have the gumption to do anything worse). If you are just a rider who wants to plod around on casual strolls with friends or nose to tail on a mountain trip - he is perfectly fine doing that for anyone.

💯 He is perfect around 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲, has been 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 off of a bit, works 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀, is perfect around anything with an 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 & will go through any type of 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 without hesitation. He is 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 broke, stands in a 𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹, fits a 𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 wonderfully & gets along well in a 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗱 environment or on his 𝗼𝘄𝗻.

Sadly, Pappy’s 🙎‍♂️ is most definitely guilty of not maintaining Pappy’s hooves & to make things worse - Pappy is naturally a flat-footed, thin soled horse to start with & when he got here, he was cracked & bruised 👎👎. His front feet will still need more time but since I put pads on him, he is WAY better - just tip-toeing if he steps on a bad rock, etc & yes may still present sore first thing in the morning but I am confident that it is muscle soreness from compensating because he quickly walks right out of that.

“Joleen” is a great cross of run and cow. With plenty of performance horses in her pedigree. She is sired by the great Blazin Jet Ro Pie a well proven arena record holder and performing stallion by Blazin Jetolena. She’s out of our favorite broodmare, a big soggy mare that looks like you could throw a saddle on and she’d pack you all day. She goes back to the great Mr Play Holly and Play🔫. Every year, she brings in the biggest and best looking c**t come the fall and you often see me posting all summer long about the foals she has on her. The reason we have her in our string, is she’s easy to look at, and we fell in love with one of her oldest c**ts we trained thats is a 2D Barrel Horse, excellent ranch and family horse.

This filly, has no blemishes and has never been lame. She’s pretty as a 📸, has a fun little bit of a c**n tail just like her dam. She’s been on a regular 💉 and worming schedule.

Joleen has been ranch raised with a herd of mares and foals, since she was weaned she runs with a group of yearlings to three year olds and goes to pasture each summer. She has not gone to pasture yet as I plan to handle her until this ads over; and if she doesn’t go we will begin her workload. She has a great disposition and is good to handle. Since she’s in such a big group I shake a pale of oats and she comes into the smaller pen and I catch and halter her in there. Not to say she’s hard to catch, but it’s easier for me when the mob is after you in the pen. She leads quite well, I have not tied her as I’ve never had a reason to, she loads and hauls in the trailer. All hauls she’s made were pasture moves, and I turned her lose.

Today was the first time she’s ever been in a round pen; it’s a bit hard and crunchy in there. The 🎥 are of her July 18(in comments) She is good minded but is still a c**t and will occasionally spook while leading and will need someone with experience handling young horses but she is by no means dangerous. We think she would excel as a multi event horse, barrels, and breakaway, but assume she’d have enough size to head and heel on as well.

He has never had any funny business, no buck, not nervous, just takes things in stride. Lulu is a seasoned, honest mare who loves her job and gives it her all every run. She runs on any ground and in any setup, just point and go!
She’s more of a push-style horse indoors and a free-runner outdoors, making her super versatile depending on the setup.
She’s great to haul, loads easily, and eats and drinks like a champ on the road. She’s good with other horses or on her own, stands well for the farrier and baths, and is up to date on farrier work, 💉, and deworming. She runs barefoot and runs on Lasix.
Lulu knows the pole pattern, has been breakaway and heeled off of a little for fun, and even dabbled in English riding and jumping. She’s also solid on trails and has been ridden ba****ck. She can be hot and sometimes strong, so she’s best suited for a confident rider who’s comfortable with some power. She tries hard every time and will teach her rider so much, and they’ll have the most fun running her.
She has a few quirks: she may pull back the odd time, but always gives fair warning. I just tie her with a string as a precaution. She’ll stand tied to the trailer or anywhere else for hours without issue. She doesn’t like her right ear being touched when being bridled, so I just make the headstall bigger and don’t mess around and she is good. She can be hard to catch in a big open field but will come with a bucket of grain.
