In November 2024, Māori Party lawmakers, led by Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke, performed a haka in New Zealand Parliament to protest the “Treaty Principles Bill,” which aimed to redefine the 1840 Treaty of Waitangi. The viral protest, including ripping up the bill, briefly suspended the session and echoed nationwide demonstrations (Hīkoi mō te Tiriti). The bill passed its first reading but faced strong opposition and was expected to be blocked later, showing the power of collective action to defend historic agreements. This moment resonates globally, reflecting the struggles of Indigenous peoples and marginalized communities, including Black Americans and Native Americans, fighting for justice and treaty rights.

🗞️ Investigators know thousands of children are being abused in images circulating online. The problem is many of those children still haven't been identified or rescued.
After Tim Tebow testified before Congress about the crisis, I contacted my representative urging support for the Renewed Hope Act. I received a response, and it reminded me how important it is for citizens to speak up.
