1, one of the people behind the work at LF Bioenergy (LF). For Matt, joining LF was about more than a job. It was a chance to come home to Louisville, work near the family and community that mean everything to him and be part of something that makes a real difference. He was drawn to LF by ๐ถ๐๐ ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ, ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐ถ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐, and its excitement about building something that helps both the environment and the local communityโincluding support for local organizations and businesses in the area. That combination of purpose and people made LF stand out immediately.
Mattโs background in aluminum plants in Indiana and New York made LFโs operating environment feel like a natural fit, but what he found here was different. At LF, ๐ต๐ฒ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ ๐๐ผ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ. He is trusted with ownership of the site, encouraged to help shape operational excellence, and treated as more than just a number. That sense of ownership has helped him grow in confidenceโparticularly in electrical work, vendor coordination, and collaboration across the team.
Matt is proud of the ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ถ๐น๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ it takes to keep a site running well. โ Success depends on ๐ฐ๐น๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ every dayโfrom maintaining the right water consistency to refining proven practices that protect digester performance. โA Clean Fuel Standard could be a game changer for New Yorkโcreating new opportunities for dairy farmers, strengthening rural communities, and advancing the stateโs clean transportation future. It was an honor to speak with Governor Hochul this week about the urgent need for this policy and what it would mean for farmers across the state. A Clean Fuel Standard would send a strong signal to investors, help build a stable market for renewable natural gas, and recognize the important role dairy farmers can play in reducing methane emissions and supporting New Yorkโs clean energy goals. Just as importantly, it would help ensure rural communities share in the economic benefits of New Yorkโs clean energy future,โ said Cyn French, EVP of Corporate Affairs at LF Bioenergy.

When safety has to be right the first time, Dustin Long leads from the front. Heโs climbed the Colorado Mt. Elbert, โ14er,โ and heโs worked 300 feet in the air as a wind technicianโtwo experiences that demand the same thing: ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ด๐ผ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ ๐ฒ๐

Growing up, Dustin was fortunate to be around the building blocks of a successful heavy-industry career, including farm and tractor-trailer operations. Seeing the day-to-day management of these businesses helped him build a strong foundation in maintenance ex*****on and operational discipline early on. By 16, he was paying his own bills and performing maintenance on his first car.
After college, Dustin entered heavy industry full time and later became a wind technician. โI think a lot about my time as a wind technician. When youโre 300 feet up in the air, the fire department isnโt coming to help you, and you must have the right equipment. Safety and efficiency became crucial in that experience, and it prepared me for my role with LF.โ
๐ง๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ๐ผ๐๐ ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐๐ฒ๐ helped Dustin determine his future with LF Bioenergy. He is working toward becoming an OSHA-certified Occupational Health and Safety Professional, driven by a passion for making the workplaceโand the worldโsafer.
Dustin also serves as a Trustee and board member at his church, where he has driven safety initiatives to make it more welcoming for the community. In his spare time, he also enjoys hiking. In 2020, he hiked Coloradoโs Mt. Elbert. That climb reinforced the same principles he brings to the LF plant every day: plan ahead, check your gear, watch the conditions, and stay steady when the work gets demanding.

Happy Earth Day from LF Bioenergy!
This yearโs EarthDay themeโโOur Power, Our Planetโโis a great reminder that the energy choices we make today shape the air we breathe, the communities we call home, and the future weโre building together.
At LF Bioenergy (LF), weโre proud to work alongside dairy farm families to turn organic cow manure into renewable natural gasโcapturing methane, reducing emissions, and delivering low-carbon solutions that strengthen rural economies.
We are grateful for our farmer partners, allies, the entire LF team, and the agricultural communities driving sustainable progress.

LF Bioenergy (LF) was pleased to participate in the 2026 hashtag Summit, which convened stakeholders from across the network of renewable energy leaders, policymakers, regulators, market operators, utilities, and innovators for substantive discussions on the energy industryโs most pressing priorities.
David Schummer, LFโs Operations Engineer and a New York resident, shared: โIt was insightful to attend the Summit. In a sense, it was also reaffirming that across every renewable energy industry and job role we all face the same issues: affordability, reliability, and the need to move forward past adversity. I value the opportunity to have participated.โ
Cyn French, a LF Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs, participated as a panelist emphasizing to New York leaders that policy certainty is a critical force multiplier. Her key points included:
ยท Policy certainty unlocks private capital and accelerates deployment.
ยท A New York Clean Fuel Standard (CFS) can be performance-based, transparent, and market-drivenโproviding a state-led framework grounded in verifiable data and public trust.
ยท Renewable natural gas (RNG) can deliver measurable methane reductions through monitoring, data, and verification.
ยท A well-designed CFS can create pathways for New York developers, investors, and farmersโwhile protecting consumers through appropriate safeguards.
ยท Scaling over the next five years aligns with NYโs dairy farmers, the renewable energy industry, rural economic growth and the stateโs climate and energy goals.
LF Bioenergy supports durable, outcomes-driven solutions. hashtag projects reduce methane emissions and improve manure management through on-farm anaerobic digester infrastructure, while supporting rural communities and economic growth.
We appreciated the exchange of perspectives at the Summit and the strong alignment across the energy sector on advancing proven solutions.

The ACI Future of RNG North America 2026 conference brought together thought leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to unpack whatโs changing across sustainable energy and waste-to-RNGโand what it means for project development, finance, and commercialization.
LF Bioenergy Chief Commercial Officer Jeff Spearin (panelist) underscored a core financing reality: โA bankable offtake agreement still needs term length and price certainty. There are new tools to manage volatility, but lenders are not fully there yetโฆ there are more tools and options available to producers to dampen merchant price volatility, but Iโm not sure that is enough for lenders just yet.โ Spearin noted how the low- and negative -CI offtake market has reset. Offtakes into Clean Fuel Standard (CFS)-type markets at reasonable pricesโoften with five-year+ termsโare harder to secure. Many offtakers and intermediaries are also pushing more risk back to producers (volume variability, change-in-law risk, and other carveouts). In practice, RNG developers must now weigh headline value against the risks embedded in the paper. The era of โstandardโ RIN and LCFS RNG offtake agreements appears to be behind usโand a major disconnect today is using market and offtake assumptions from 12+ months ago, despite materially different conditions.
For producers, the offtake landscape looks very different than it did 2โ3 years ago. Some traditional demand channels (e.g., CNG for transportation) are increasingly saturated, and constraints in the value chain have shifted from feedstocks and RNG supply toward dispensing capacity. That shift raises the bar for commercialization strategy: evaluate compliance and voluntary markets, diversify pathways where feasible, and price the added risk explicitly in commercial terms.
Looking ahead, producers should test the commercial potential of both existing facilities and new developments across multiple marketsโand structure offtake agreements with as much flexibility as practicable to navigate evolving pricing, policy, and demand dynamics.
