Moore Bassoon

It’s been two years in the making, but I composed a piece and it’s being premiered December 13th, 2025!

Reclamation is a musician exploration based on the beautiful Swahili principles of Kwanzaa that are infused with elements of hip-hop, rap, r&b, and gospel music. I can’t wait to share the recording!

Meet Gina Moore (she/her) — the brilliant composer behind Reclamation, one of the featured works on our Winter Lights and Festive Nights concert!
Gina is a freelance bassoonist, educator, composer, and diversity advocate based right here in the DFW area. Her work centers on uplifting minority students, decolonizing Western music, and creating meaningful, community-driven music experiences.

Long time no see baddies! I’ve been a bit swamped in teaching, projects, and the ups and downs of gig life.
