🦒 Building Guardians for Giraffes in Botswana
Exciting things have been happening on the ground in Botswana! We recently donated some equipment and wrapped up a two-day training around giraffe monitoring at Goo-Moremi Gorge with particpants from both Goo-Moremi Gorge and Khama Rhino Sanctuary. The training objectives were clear:
✅ Understand key conservation challenges facing giraffes today — from habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict to the impacts of drought.
✅ Highlight why species monitoring is not just data collection — it’s essential for determining and reaching conservation outcomes.
✅ Get hands-on! Participants were introduced to tracking equipment and camera systems donated by Save Giraffes Now, with live field demonstrations so they can hit the ground running.
A huge thank you to the scouts, partners, and everyone who made this training possible. 🙌

We are so excited to see and take to the track this 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo season with a stunning giraffe-themed livery, helping shine a spotlight on Africa’s giraffes and the incredible organisations working to protect them. 🦒
This is exactly the kind of bold, creative partnership that brings giraffe conservation to a wider audience. 🏁🧡
A huge thank you to everyone involved for standing tall for giraffes — and best of luck for the season ahead!

Happy ! 🌍
This year’s theme is “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future” — and it feels very close to home for us.
Giraffes aren’t just beautiful. They’re a vital part of Africa’s landscapes. So healthy giraffe populations mean healthy ecosystems. And healthy ecosystems are one of our greatest allies against climate change — it’s a full circle.
Today and everyday we will continue to do what we do for giraffes and our beautiful planet. 🌍

❤️ YOU DID IT! ❤️
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have reached our fundraising goal for Mike Parkei’s kidney treatment.
When we shared Mike’s story, we hoped people would recognize the extraordinary man he is. Mike stood on the front lines helping save the last remaining herd of Rothschild’s giraffes at Ruko Conservancy during devastating floods, dedicating his life to protecting wildlife.
The response has been overwhelming. On behalf of Mike, his family, and all of us, thank you. Your kindness, compassion, and support will help provide the life-saving treatment he urgently needs.

A few weeks ago, we shared that our Kenya team member, Aggrey, had been visiting the USA — and one of his special stops was at the incredible 🦒💚. Joining him on the trip was Dr. Liza (), Head Veterinarian for Save Giraffes Now, making this visit a meaningful opportunity to connect, collaborate, and share knowledge around giraffe conservation.
Save Giraffes Now and Nashville Zoo have partnered on many projects over the years, and we are immensely grateful for their continued support and the many ways they help advance our mission to protect giraffes. A special thank you as well to keeper Jenna and the wonderful zoo team, who have become such valued friends of Save Giraffes Now. Your support means so much to us.

🐾 Meet Rudi — a retired conservation canine who spent 8 years helping protect Zambia’s wildlife.
Save Giraffes Now proudly supports veterinary and K9 teams, helping protect the rare Thornicroft’s giraffe found only in Zambia. 🦒
Rudi, who was in the K9 team, worked tirelessly detecting illegal wildlife products and protecting endangered animals — even after developing a condition affecting his hind legs.
Now retired this sweet senior boy spends his days enjoying long walks, curling up in his bed, chewing on his favorite plastic bones, and greeting new visitors with an enthusiastic bark.
While Rudi enjoys his well-deserved retirement, Save Giraffes Now is supporting by paying for his food and medicine.
