🤔The dismantling of the Department of Education is very much so a planned strategy to keep information and knowledge suppressed from those who desire a higher quality of life. It’s not just a political issue, it’s a life altering issue that will set our back over 100 years.

These systemic rollbacks will:

❌ Strip access to behavioral & mental health support services that is needed for our most vulnerable children who have already experienced 2 or more adverse childhood experiences in their short lives.
❌ Defund the very programs that protect emotional well-being and support HER advancement academically, socially, spiritually, relationally, and economically
❌ Widen the education gap that already leaves HER behind and ill-equipped to compete in professional settings which interferes with HER ability to provide for HER family structure

Every single study around education shows that when to quality education crumbles, HER hope starts to fall with it.

By 2017, su***de rates for African American girls had already increased by 182%.
When you take away her education, you add to her stress, silence, and suffering. Adding to HER desires of not belonging because she feels she can’t compete, lacks resources, doubting who she is and HER purpose.

FASTell Girl Model2Mentor was developed to stand in the gap.
Our Summer Virtual Program is designed to be a therapeutic and empowering experience built just for HER by mental health professionals that resemble HER.

Since the first day I found out I had , I’ve been reflecting deeply on the delicateness of life. Earlier this week this reflection was heightened after seeing on social media that an acquaintance had passed away unexpectedly. Reports such as this, tend to position me in a place of greater consciousness and presence for every moment.

The news of his passing inspired me to write my latest blog post, "Embracing the Gift of Life and Finding Purpose Amidst Breast Cancer."

This post is more than just a recount of my journey; it’s a message of hope for anyone struggling to find purpose in the midst of their storms. Trauma responses can become normalized in our daily lives. Especially for those who grew up in environments marked by domestic violence, which can trigger these responses.

At FASTell Girl Model2Mentor Program, our BET System is designed to support girls at risk of domestic violence, particularly those who have experienced two or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) between the ages of 0-17. Research indicates that children who encounter four or more ACEs are 1200 times more likely to attempt su***de.

Consider the number of women who, having endured two or more ACEs as children, are now either living in domestic violence situations or are in the process of healing from such experiences.
