The work continues…🚧 #BuildingOnProgress

I’ve advocated for public policies that build on progress in South Dallas Fair Park for nearly 20 years along with investing my own personal time, money and efforts into building up our families and communities.

So I believe in the economic potential Fair Park can bring to all of Dallas residents locally, nationally and globally.

United communities are strong communities.

South Dallas Renaissance!

Yesterday was a great day for not just South Dallas Fair Park, but all of Dallas as we continue Mayor Eric Johnson’s agenda to build the best parks in the nation.

I felt pride in standing with community leaders from every neighborhood of South Dallas proper as the Honorable Councilmember of District 7 Adam Bazaldua led a unanimous vote by Dallas City Council to move forward.

We are grateful to TX-100 Rep Venton Jones and others for funding the Community Park.

Today, through appointment by the Honorable Councilmember Adam Bazaldua and unanimous consent of Dallas City Council, I become a board member of the Grand Park South TIF.

I also took a moment to address the council on our new drivers of opportunity policy responding to the current president’s regressive economic D.E.I. Executive Order.

“It is moments like these that a people are able to define ourselves.”

Hasani Burton stands with the overwhelming majority of Dallas voters, Chief Comeaux and the majority of Dallas City Council in rejecting participation in the ICE 287(g) program.

Today is a big day at Dallas City Hall as they finalize City budget.

I addressed the council on the continued need for incremental property tax relief for home owners and small businesses.

After a two year hiatus to focus on parenting and professional goals, I took the Oath of Office with fellow Dallas Democrats last night to return as a Precint Chair. 💙 🗳️

I’m grateful for being Chair of the Dallas Democrats Precinct Chair Committee.

At our first meeting this group showed up ready to work! We were engaged, productive and efficient with our time.

The Dallas County Democratic Party C.E.C. rewarded our hard work at last night’s meeting by unanimously passing the 5 S.T.A.R. Precint Chair Training Program we created.

About last night:

Dallas County Democratic Party Chair Kristy Noble appointed members to the Precint Chair Committee and appointees were ratified unanimously by the County Executive Committee.

As the Chair of this committee, I’m looking forward to strengthening the Dallas Democrats and progressing Democratic values in north Texas by assuring every Precinct Chair has a working knowledge of all tools available to us to turnout the vote.
