Here is an exercise we discussed virtually Monday December 29, 2025, as we were getting ready to exit the year 2025 and move into 2026.
Exercise Title: Let It Go — Honoring What Once Protected You.
As you grow into a new version of yourself, it becomes necessary to create space. This often means releasing behaviors, thoughts, or patterns you’ve been holding onto for a long time. Letting go is not an act of rejection—it is an act of gratitude and growth.
Many of these behaviors once served a purpose. They helped you survive, cope, or feel safe during difficult seasons of your life.
This exercise invites you to gently acknowledge what you are ready to release, while honoring the role it once played.
There is no judgment here—only awareness, compassion, and grace.
Take a few quiet moments. Breathe deeply.
Then complete the statements below with honesty and kindness toward yourself.
Examples:
I am letting go of self-sabotage, and I give gratitude for it keeping me in my comfort zone when I was afraid to fail. OR
I am letting go of stress eating, and I give gratitude for it bringing temporary comfort when I felt overwhelmed.
Your Turn:
I am letting go of ____________________, and I give gratitude for ____________________.
✨ Reminder: You are not erasing your past—you are honoring it while choosing to move forward with intention.

As the year comes to an end, we want to Thank You for your support.
To anyone entering this holiday season with an empty chair and a tender heart—please know you are not alone. It’s okay if the joy feels different, quieter, or mixed with tears. Love does not disappear when someone is no longer physically present; it lives on in your memories, traditions, and the way they shaped who you are. Be gentle with yourself, honor your feelings without judgment, and remember that holding space for grief is also a form of love. You are seen, you are supported, and you deserve moments of peace, however they come. 💛

Help Us Turn Grief Into Purpose - Join the BELL Foundation This North Texas Giving Day
"When a child dies, a world ends - but from that shattered world, something powerful can begin."
The BELL Foundation was born from unimaginable pain - the kind no parent should ever know. We are mothers, fathers, siblings, grandparents, survivors. Each of us carries a story of devastating loss - a child taken too soon by the violence that plagues our communities. But we made a choice to turn our grief into a mission of healing, advocacy, and hope.
We are not just a foundation.
We are a movement for healing.
We are a lifeline for grieving families.
We are a voice for the silenced.
