Silver Pride Project DFW
Silver Pride Project advocates for LGBTQ Older Adults to decrease social isolation & homophobia
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appointed to Health and Human Services by trump decided the best way to talk about healthcare is by speed-running nonsense…250,000 Americans over the age of 124 are collecting workers’ compensation”… sure, Jan. 🙄
His brainworm didn’t even ask for facts…it went straight to crazy town. Because nothing says “public health” like for the brain. 🤦🏽♂️

A lot of people here in Texas love talking about what they’d do if a predator ever came near their child... but here’s Adam Hoffman who r***d his son’s best friend continuously for 3 years starting when the boy was in the third grade… and Ken Paxton makes sure he only served 29 days! Now he’ll be walking the streets to mo**st other children for the next 30 years… Ken Paxton subsequently was endorsed by trump for the Texas Senate🤦🏽♂️…

Cairo doesn’t beg. He lobbies. Then he checks which parent is weakest that day. He has discovered the art of divide and conquer… even if it leaves me and the wife not speaking to each other at least he gets his agenda fulfilled 🤔Cairo has figured out that “Mom said no” is not a final answer…it’s just the beginning of negotiations. Our dog has learned that the household has two branches of government, and he only needs one of them to approve treats🤦🏽♂️

I’m heartbroken beyond words. Someone I truly admired and respected was killed by a maniac carjacker while he was out for a walk. He was a friend, and he was also a source of motivation and encouragement when I first started the Silver Pride Project.
My heart is aching with the pain of losing him…my mind is filled with anger that such an amazing man was taken from us far too soon. He meant so much to so many people, and this loss is devastating.
Joey…You will not be forgotten😰

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me.
this day was never about parties or presents…it was about proof. proof that i made it through another year when life tried to take me out early.
since 15, being alone, homeless, and still learning how to exist as myself, birthdays became something deeper. they became survival. something to hold onto. a quiet victory.
and here i am again.
i did it. i survived another year.
through everything, i’m still standing. still breathing. still here.
that means something.
happy birthday 🙌🏾

For my love… on her birthday, with gratitude:
I learned a truth in younger days
That love seemed meant for certain ways
For girls with grace and perfect style
Who found their match and walked the aisle
The valentines that passed me by
The Friday nights with empty skies
Were filled with dreams of something more
At age fifteen, I knew the score
For girls like me who felt apart
Struggling to find a place to start
Alone with dreams that filled the air
Imagining love that wasn’t there
A voice would whisper, “Dance with me”
With promises of what could be
But life was not as it had seemed
At age fifteen , I dared to dream
A girl in clothes that weren’t brand new
With eyes that saw the world askew
Said, “If only I could contrive
To find she who makes me feel alive”
The beauty queens with wealth and grace
Found solace in a crowded space
With promises of company
And shelter for eternity
All the hometown eyes that stared my way
The disbelief at my truths they’d weigh
The familial promises were all pretend
At fifteen, I faced the end
So to those who felt the sting of pain
From valentines that never came
And those whose names were left unsaid
When teams were formed and games were played
It was long ago, a distant past
When dreams were all we had amassed
For girls like me, who longed to see
A world where we could just be free
But time has passed, and now I find
A love that soothes my restless mind
For almost thirty years, I’ve known
A joy that’s grown and brightly shone
A beautiful soul who saw in me
The love and strength I longed to be
She made me forget the days of old
When I felt like an ugly duckling, cold
At almost seventy, I see the truth
That love can come and I have proof
That happiness is ours to claim
In a life where your loves the flame
You make my life worth living❤️

I’m part of the “silent generation” of the LGBTQ community
in a world that’s constantly chasing what’s new and next. But trust me, there is nothing silent about the lives they’ve lived. The stories, the chaos, the courage, the fashion choices we don’t question…we’ve seen it all.
So when younger community members show up with love, respect, and that “I got you” energy? It hits deep. Like, unexpectedly emotional deep. Because it’s not just kindness…it’s connection. It’s being seen.
And to you younger ones: come sit with us for a minute. Hear our stories. Some of us don’t have kids or built-in support systems as we get older, but we’ve got a lifetime of love, advice, and maybe a little harmless tea just waiting for the right audience. Give us a reason to get up, get dressed, and share it.
Plus… let’s be real…one day, you WILL be us. Maybe with better skincare. Maybe not. Either way, the roles will flip faster than you think.
So let’s take care of each other now…because community doesn’t have an age limit, and honestly, we’re a lot more fun when we stick together.
What happens inside Kutinfed Barbershop goes way beyond haircuts. It’s one of those rare spaces where Black men can sit down, let their guard down, and actually be seen and heard. The owners aren’t just shaping fades…they’re helping shape conversations that too often get ignored.
By speaking openly about mental health and the real-life pressures Black men carry, they’re creating something powerful: a place where vulnerability isn’t weakness, it’s strength. That kind of honesty saves lives. It reminds people they’re not alone, that their struggles matter, and that there’s support right there in the chair next to them.
That’s bigger than a barbershop. That’s community. That’s care. That’s impact.

So let me get this straight…
The guy who promised to end all foreign wars just sent American soldiers to die in a war he never justified, never explained, never got approval for…and has zero plan to end. And while our troops are starting to come home in flag-dr***d coffins, he’s…partying at Mar-a-Lago on our dime. 🤬
This is the same guy who:
Skipped the dignified transfer of four soldiers who died in Lithuania so he could host a glittery gala at his gold-plated golf motel … for the same crowd that funded 9/11.
Gutted the VA and cut the su***de prevention hotline meant to help veterans in their darkest moments.
Used Arlington National Cemetery… the resting place of more than 400,000 heroes … as a campaign photo op, even after being told not to. His staff literally attacked officials trying to stop him.
Asked a Gold Star father, Gen. John Kelly, why anyone would join the military because, in his words, “there’s nothing in it for them.” 😡
Called our military leaders “dumb” and “overrated”…while praising terrorists as “very smart.”
Said the Medal of Freedom he handed to his rich buddies was “better” than the Medal of Honor because…you know…those recipients are “in bad shape or dead.”
Fired more veterans than any president in U.S. history.
And on Memorial Day, at Arlington of all places, talked about the Olympics and trophy wives.
But sure, tell me again how much he “loves our troops.” Which one of those things shows it? Seriously …which one?
Because right now, he’s sending other people’s kids to die…while his own are safe, rich, and partying. He’s turned our soldiers … our loved ones..into props in a deadly game that fills his pockets and feeds his ego.
And I’m scared… fu**in terrified…because I’ve got people I love in uniform. And they deserve a leader who values their lives more than his next photo op.
And let’s just hope he’s at Dover when they bring back the bodies of those killed while he was celebrating and playing Commander-in-Chief… instead of off playing golf!
