My first custom fish painting! The other week ok TikTok I posted a video asking for advice on what fish to add to my print collection. The trout prints I have are, surprisingly, the most popular ones in my Etsy shop so I thought maybe I should add some more options.

I received so many helpful comments and suggestions that I will be working on, but one of the suggestions was to offer custom fish portraits. In an effort to get out of my comfort zone, I’ve been playing around with different styles and mediums.

I stumbled upon a reel from the other day and absolutely loved her style. She is a French artist based in the Italian mountains and paints the most whimsical and colorful landscapes. I based these off one of her pieces just to see how it felt and they were so fun to make. I think a hot pink underpainting might be my new favorite thing. She offers prints of her pieces so be sure to check her out!

I used acrylic paint for the piece on bottom and gouache for the piece on top. Do you have a preference?

I love all the subtle textures and details in this house portrait. This was one of two portraits a dad ordered as gifts for his kids - so thoughtful!
