Happy Carrie Marcus Neiman Day! On December 2, 2021, the Office of the Dallas Mayor declared December 2 as Carrie Marcus Neiman Day. Carrie, with her brother, Herbert Marcus, Sr., and her husband, Al Neiman, founded Neiman Marcus in 1907. Carrie was instrumental in building and sustaining the early success of Neiman Marcus, leveraging her innate good taste in fashion and impeccable buying abilities.

One of her biggest accomplishments was establishing the Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion in 1938, which later would become one of the most prestigious awards to receive in the fashion industry. In an era where much of women’s contributions were overlooked, Carrie pushed boundaries, trailblazed a path for women and left an indelible impact.

Yesterday, we announced the launch of NMG Awards, our new annual platform to recognize and amplify breakthrough luminaries in fashion globally. The announcement marked the return of the highly regarded Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion, which was established by our co-founders over 85 years ago. This year, Brunello Cucinelli is the 2023 recipient of this iconic and prestigious award.

Take a look at our People Services and Product, Technology & Analytics teams recently volunteering with Feed My Starving Children. They packed more than 100 boxes of food, which will supply over 22,000 meals for families in need. Thank you to our teams for giving back and joining the effort to fight against food insecurities in the local community.

Our Neiman Marcus Southeast Service Center (SESC) recently donated over 350lbs of food to its longtime partner Feeding South Florida. The generosity of the SESC team significantly surpassed their record of previously collecting 180lbs! Thank you SESC team for Leading with Love in your community.
