Winter Storm Tips for International Students!!
Winter weather can be very different from what you may be used to. Here are a few ways to stay safe and prepared.
Before the storm
• Check the weather forecast daily
• Stock up on water, snacks, and easy-to-make food
• Charge your phone and any power banks
• Set out warm clothes, blankets, and extra socks
During the storm
• Stay indoors if possible
• Avoid driving on icy or snowy roads
• Let faucets drip slightly to help prevent frozen pipes
• Check in with roommates or friends
If the power goes out
• Use flashlights instead of candles when possible
• Keep doors closed to stay warm
• Layer clothing and use blankets
• Save phone battery for emergencies
If this is your first winter storm, you are not alone. Ask questions, stay connected, and take it seriously. Your safety matters.
Save this post and share it with an international student who may need it.

After a relaxing holiday break, WELCOME BACK to the start of another school semester for our international students!
Now is the time to buckle back into the routine that you created during the first semester of the school year. Whatever your daily rituals look like, it’s important to prioritize building new connections, strong friendships, and finding a supportive community. This is where ISF can help!
➡️ Need a hangout spot on a Friday night with other internationals like you? Check out opportunities for home group.
➡️ Want to find ways to get more plugged in to your community? We can help.
➡️ Want to engage with others who understand the burdens and isolation that international students commonly face? ISF is here for you!
