The ACA (or Obamacare, as most of us know it) gets a bad rap. The original legislation fixed 2 big problems for us: 1) insurance companies have to give health coverage to people with pre-existing conditions and 2) it allows kids to stay on their parent's health coverage until 25. Accident coverage is a great product to offer your employees. It pays the policy holder directly, so they can use the money to pay whatever bills they want to. Best part, this is voluntary coverage, so employees pay the monthly premium, not the business owner.

Sometimes you go to pick up a prescription and the insurance company has declined to pay for it, asking for a prior authorization. Don't panic, all you need to do is call the prescribing doctor's office and tell them that you need a letter of authorization to be submitted to your medical insurance carrier.
