We created this front entryway because we needed a mud room, the front of the home had three arches and so I thought enclosed one so that we could reroute the way we entered the home. It feels so much better now! Rather than walking into a working space, this extra little room gives purpose. Happy Friday everyone! And happy Labor day weekend. Santa Fe has completely changed the way I’m looking at color. I’ve been working on a home there this year, and the history, architecture, textiles and incredible spirit of the city have inspired me to play with cobalt blues, buttermilk yellows, oxblood purples, bright reds, vintage finds and unexpected patterns. In my latest blog post, I’m sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the process, from a Facebook Marketplace sofa and Indian block-print fabrics to Mexican tile and a pink terracotta bathroom. It’s a reminder that the best rooms don’t come from copying what’s already been done—they come from being inspired by a place and then finding your own point of view within it.
