When’s the last time you had your air ducts inspected or cleaned?

A quick before and after. Homeowners dryer was taking an extra cycle to dry their clothes. We were able to get in there and clear the blockage and roof vent.

Another Broken dryer vent. Dryer vent was never connected properly and had been filtering inside this homeowners walls. Ultimately something like this can be dangerous but luckily our camera inspection found the issue.

Dryer fires are a real thing. I had a customer tell me the reason he called us was because the people across the street had their dryer catch fire and damage their house. Here are 2 air returns we did in a town home. Absolutely the dirtiest ones we have seen yet. If you live in a rented space, I would say your system has never been cleaned. It's bold statement but after seeing this......

Floor vents! If you have floor ducts that bring your conditioned air to your rooms, They need to be cleaned more often than ceiling ducts. Here is a buffet found in the floor duct in a kitchen. Yes, that is a sliced lime and a cookie. Mummified of course along with all kinds of kitchen floor debris. The next picture I will load is what comes with this kind of mess.

Here a customer complained that there wasn't much air flow coming from the vents in the kitchen. I can't imagine why! This duct under the house, was almost completely severed. In fact there were 2 ducts like this. While it's nice to work in a crawl space that is air conditioned, it doesn't do much for the rest of the house!! Camera inspections are inexpensive and may reveal problems like this. During our cleanings, we inspect for such issues and provide remedies to get the air flowing again!

Hi everyone. I wanted to post another set of pictures from a home we serviced and show you what was found in the dryer. This vent was approximately 20 feet long. I have mentioned before about the possibility of dryers causing house fires, the reduction in dryer efficiency and premature failure of the appliance. Your dryer should be checked at least once a year. It doesn't take that much time for us to inspect it with our camera and clean it out. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure here!

Debris! While some of this stuff will never move from its present spot, its the stuff that is flying by that will latch on to it and make a larger obstacle. Our equipment will vacuum it up and leave no trace! No more chance for it to get bigger or block a vent restricting air flow!

Here is a really good or bad example of the importance of clean air ducts and returns. Replacing the filter is a good idea but it only catches the things that are moving in the system. What about the stuff that doesn't move, that has attached itself inside the ducts. These blockages just get bigger and bigger until there is a diminished flow.
