Multi-platinum Producer/Songwriter has produced music for , India.Arie, Noel Gourdin, Sy Smith and many more.

Starting out at age 16 as an emcee in the Dallas Hip-Hop music collective, Decadent Dub Team (DDT) lead by , a pilar in his own right on the Dallas music scene, Ty Macklin aka XL7 honed his rhyme prowess and stage skills. Prior to XL7 joining the group, DDT was known for their song “Six Gun” which had been included on the soundtrack to the Dennis Hopper-directed LA film “Colors”. Being in DDT allowed a young XL7 to open shows for Cypress Hill, The Geto Boys, Chill Rob G, and more.

While still being a part of DDT as an emcee only, XL7 would later form his own Hip-Hop trio, Shabazz 3 in 1994 with cousin John “Mr. Fatz” Dangerfield and Bobby “DJ Bobby D” May.

Not just an emcee, but now a beat maker, XL7 and Shabazz 3 made great strides on the Dallas music scene being the first Hip Hop group to perform at the DMA Jazz Under The Stars. They were also the first Hip Hop group in Texas, to be sponsored by Miller Lite and won Best Hip Hop Group in 2001 by the Dallas Observer. Before she became world renowned, Erykah Badu and XL7 both attended Booker T. Washington’s High School for the Performing Arts. When she signed her record deal with Universal Motown in 1996, she pegged XL7 to produce the track for “Drama” on her debut album “Baduizm”. The rest is history.

Though Shabazz 3 is on an extended hiatus, XL7 is still on the scene as an emcee and as a producer. In 2014, he produced India.Aries song “Strange Fruit” on her Songversation album. In 2020, he released his solo Hip Hop album entitled “Seeds” featuring some of Dallas’ elite emcees like Pikahsso, Tahiti, Doc Strange, Dap, Kris Boss, and more. Also in 2020, he released a compilation called “Ty Macklin presents Soul In The Key of Neo VLM1” featuring songs he’s produced for some very talented indie and major label artist.

Cameron McCloud aka , burst onto the Dallas music scene in 2015 after a video of him sneaking backstage at the Bomb Factory and free-styling for blew up. What followed was a torrent of success for McCloud and his band, hip-hop collective Cure for Paranoia.

McCloud has known since second or third grade he wanted to be a musician. Growing up in Irving and Coppell, he was exposed to professional musicianship early on by his mom’s then-boyfriend.

“One night I got snowed in at his house while he was working on music, and he had some artists over, and then I just started writing too,” McCloud recalls. “Then I performed the song for them — and, like, I’m sure it was s**t, but it just got such a great response from them that I even tried. And I was like, ‘Oh, s**t, I’m going to just keep doing this.’”
