At Gameplan Digital, we find that our small business partners all have something in common- ethics. Work ethic. Business ethic. Punctuality. The desire to succeed in without ever sacrificing who they are, where they’re from, or something what they value along the way.

This we want to bring attention to two of our favorite veteran-owned - which was founded by a Vietnam-era fighter pilot, and who, when we met him, took the call from thousands of miles away in the Middle East.

Our message should be crystal clear: this and , when you’re out shopping for loved ones, think about what happens that once it leaves your wallet. It will inevitably end up in the hands of another human. Where does that human live? What was that human’s life like? Are they good people? Do they share the you hold dear?

Lastly, our Summer intern, Joanie, is a student at the school in the background of this picture. While at one time it was an football powerhouse, it had a to refocus on academics, and is currently home to one of the top schools in the nation!

After Seattle, we hit the 101 and ended up in this city. We’re not being rude.. they’re very proud of it. For example, in 1976 they became home to the world’s smallest public park. It’s 2 feet long.

This city was founded in 1842 and was almost named , were it not for a fortunate fortunate coin flip. If that’s not weird enough, it was founded next to a , which the locals love taking hikes on. Talk about playing with fire.

We ❤️ this city, though, for its thriving community, like the popular in this picture. There are 66 THOUSAND small businesses in their metro area, with about 11% of its workers being self-employed. Talk about a !

CONTEST TIME: After spending time in Austin, Gameplan heads to the coast for our 🚗

We needed some energy, and even though we prefer we had to stop in at the first ever location of America’s largest franchise. ☕️

From there, we walked a few yards down and saw some very theatrical fish mongers hard at work. 🐟

Despite the pandemic still raging on, it was encouraging to see so many wonderful at this market which opened its doors over 114 years ago!

Because they don't have a single professional sports team, these residents can be found supporting their hometown college. Despite being a pretty clean city, one of their biggest nightlife hubs is named the "Dirty Sixth."

After being incorporated as a city in 1837, this city grew to a magnificent size, and is currently one of the larger American metropolitans. Sure, a fire may have wiped out a third of the city in 1871, but they built it back stronger, creating the world’s first skyscraper in 1885. 🏙🌇
