Queen Nefertari Chapter No.1

In support of one of our sister chapters, Naamah #8, and its Spirit Week, we would like to share two members of our chapter who embody the characteristics of Adah, fidelity and faithfulness and Ruth, constancy and hope. Both sisters Rashida Baker and Latoya Hart are shining examples of these two biblical heroines. We are grateful to call them members of Queen Nefertari, Chapter No. 1!

We are shouting out our Worthy Matron, Elisa Fedorick. Today she celebrates 23 years in the Order. That is surely a commitment to the legacy of sisterhood and community that is indicative of being a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Today we celebrate the beautiful mothers who shaped the women of our Chapter, those still blessing us with their presence and those whose love continues to guide us from beyond. We’re lighting it up BLUE for Autism Awareness Day!

1 in 31 children in the U.S. has autism, up from the previous rate of 1 in 36.
1 in 45 adults in the U.S. has autism.
In the U.S., about 4 in 100 boys and 1 in 100 girls have autism.
Boys are nearly 4 times more likely to be diagnosed with autism than girls.

We lend our support to those who research in order to find more effective ways to help people with autism and we encourage those who are care givers to the autistic community.
