Mr. Buscemi Art Class

I’ve been holding back from sharing this for over a year, and I’m finally excited to do so.

About a year and a half ago, I had the opportunity to help introduce pastels to FC Dallas soccer player Sebastian Lletget. During that time, he shared his dream of creating a portrait of his late sister, Vivi.

With his permission, I’m honored to share the beautiful culmination of his work. This piece is a true testament to his dedication, heart, and perseverance. Sebastian was incredibly kind throughout the process, and I couldn’t be prouder of the effort and care he put into this meaningful masterpiece.

A sad day, I just saw that Olivia Hussey passed today at 73. One of my favorite oil paintings I did 43 years ago incorperated an image of her as Mary from the TV mini series called Jesus of Nazareth. I called it Silent Night.

This weekend, I enjoyed teaching two workshops at the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) for over 100 art teachers, covering Pastel eye creation using Cuong Nguyen's techniques and Italian Leather Mask Making.

It was such an honor to accept the award for the (TAEA) Texas Art Education Association 2024 Texas Outstanding High School Art Teacher of the year in Galveston TX. It was great to have my wife Tiffany there and so many good friends. It is the highlight of my teaching career.

I cannot believe it’s been 35 years Tiffany!!! Where has the time gone? 3 children and 2 grandchildren later and here we are. I am so blessed to call you my wife and best friend! Thank you for all the things you do. The list is so long and you do them all so well. I look forward to many more years together and want to say thank you for saying “I do!”😘❤️

I had an amazing time today teaching the high school and middle school art teachers at Birdville ISD. They did a wonderful job! Thank you Thai Nguyen for letting me use your artroom.
