A Call To Action from St. Luke’s Political-Social Action Ministry In every branch of our government, the votes of Black and brown people are being infringed upon! The judicial branch weakened key provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, making it much harder to challenge racially discriminatory or politically gerrymandered voting maps. The legislative branch is attempting to impose unnecessary barriers to voter registration and at the polls through the SAVE Act and SAVE America Act, which require voters to provide documentation that many don’t have. Furthermore, the executive branch has issued unconstitutional executive orders attempting to end birthright citizenship. One of the latest attempts to disenfranchise voters is the systematic purging of voters happening here in Texas. The Political-Social Action Ministry will be stationed in St. Luke’s church foyer and under the Tree of Knowledge this Sunday, June 21, to help you verify your registration status. St. Luke High had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Together We Sing Together We Sing Masterclass at the world-renowned Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas with renowned conductor Leon Lacy.

Experiences like these help young people see that their talents can open doors and create opportunities far beyond the classroom. Thank you to Project Unity Project Unity and all of the presenters and mentors who invested in the next generation of artists and leaders.
