When I sit down with a woman who is recently divorced, there are always financial questions to address. But there is usually a deeper one too:
"Can I trust myself to make these decisions alone?"
The answer is yes. You've been making financial decisions all along. Now they just look different.
If you're navigating a recent divorce, I'm here to help you build a plan that reflects who you are and what you want for your future.

Some days this job reminds me exactly why I do it. Father's Day is one of them.
Being a dad to my two daughters is the greatest thing I do. They remind me every day why the work we do matters—building stability, planning ahead, and taking care of the people we love.
To every dad and father figure out there: the lessons you've passed down about hard work, responsibility, and thinking about the future leave a mark that lasts a lifetime. Happy Father's Day!

"What's the best investment for retirement?"
I get this question all the time. Here's what I tell people: it's not about picking the next hot stock or perfectly timing the market.
The real key is how your portfolio is built. That's where asset allocation comes in. How you divide your money between stocks, bonds, and other investments.
You can pick great individual investments and still have the wrong strategy if your overall allocation doesn't fit your plan.
Retirement lasts 20 or 30 years. Your investment strategy needs to be built for the long haul.

We just got back from Italy, and I'm still on cloud nine. Time away with Leila and the girls, and no agenda except being together.
What I keep thinking about, now that we're home, is how much the planning mattered. We talked for months about where to go, what we wanted the girls to see, and how to make the most of the time without running ourselves ragged. The trip was wonderful because we were intentional about it in advance.
That is the same thing I tell the families I work with. Retirement isn't a finish line you stumble across. It's a season you get to design on purpose, while you still have time to shape it. The people who enjoy it most are usually the ones who started picturing it years before they got there.
So here's my question for you: when you imagine your retirement, what trip have you been putting off? Who is standing next to you in the photo?
Make the plan now, so you're free to spend the years that matter on the people who matter.

As part of my client reviews, I'm checking in on more than just accounts and beneficiaries. I'm also asking:
-> Do you have a trusted contact listed?
-> Has your estate plan been updated?
-> Do your documents reflect your wishes today?
These are simple steps that can make a big difference when life changes unexpectedly.

A question I hear often from single women: "How do I reduce taxes in retirement?"
👉 Short answer: Build a tax-smart withdrawal strategy.
That means having money in different types of accounts. Some taxable, some tax-deferred like traditional IRAs, and some tax-free like Roth IRAs.
When you retire, you can pull from the right account at the right time to keep your tax bill lower. Small decisions each year add up over 20 or 30 years.

A client asked me last week: "If the market is up 20% and I'm only up 13%, does that mean something's wrong?"
Not necessarily. Your investments should reflect your plan, your goals, and your timeline, not just what the headlines say.
Comparing your portfolio to the S&P 500 isn't always the right lens. What matters is whether you're on track for what you need.
