Hello PEO Ottawa Chapter members!
Yes, we are still around and working for you, albeit in a modified state due to COVID-19 shut downs. Our last major event was the Annual AGM held in late February 2020 and we had planned a slate of activities and events for the year which were put in abeyance to follow local protocols and in the interest of everyone’s health. Initiatives that have been ongoing remotely include the 30x30 initiative to increase the number of women license holders, Government Liaison initiative to increase the awareness of engineering with our elected officials and promote engineers to take the plunge and run for office while our face-to-face event such as the ever popular Diefenbunker tour were not held. Keep an eye out for announcements for remote access activities that are coming this fall.
We are currently working on our 2021 Business Plan that will see events planned for next year and look forward to seeing you as we all labour through current times.
Stay safe and feel free to contact your executive as found at www.ottawa.peo.on.ca
