3D Design & Engineering recently had the opportunity to design a 20-acre fiber hub facility for a major global technology and cloud provider. One thing we’ve consistently found is that photorealistic 3D environments dramatically improve collaboration between the client, their internal team, and the general contractor.

Working in a true 3D environment allows everyone involved to visualize the project before construction begins — helping identify potential issues early and avoiding costly mistakes in the field.
For this project, our team at 3D Design & Engineering:

• Surveyed a 100+ acre tract
• Created a 20-acre parcel for the client’s purchase
• Developed the engineering plans using our in-house survey data
• Built a photorealistic 3D environment of the site

This allowed us to deliver both accurate renderings that match the property exactly and a virtual walkthrough experience so the client could explore the project from every angle.

The Eagle has landed...In Vegas!

The ABC Eagle Award...Recognizing Excellence, Innovation, and the Highest Standards in Construction.

We were grateful to have received this honor at the Associated Builders and Contractors event at the National Convention held in City of Las Vegas!

Some thought this project had elements that were "impossible" to overcome, but with the right team anything can be accomplished!

Project details:

For the newly added Centennial Tower at the Houston Methodist expansion in Houston, Aggregate Technologies, Inc. was tasked with removing 15,000 square feet of concrete wall panels to allow for the new & impressive tower to tie into the existing hospital and 3D Design was chosen as the project engineer.

Working on swing stages off the side of the façade and coordinating with Vaughn Construction and multiple tower cranes, Aggregate Technologies, Inc. was able to remove these 12,000-pound wall sections over the top of the active hospital and onto trucks for disposal.

3D Design & Engineering, Inc. was pleased to partner with Aggregate Technologies, Inc. to tackle the structural and civil issues providing solutions to complete this project safely and smoothly.

3D Design & Engineering is honored that the Excellence in Construction award was given by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston in recognition of the innovative methods used to safely remove 3,700 square feet of concrete wall panels over the active Houston Methodist hospital.
