I fought through 90 guys to make an NFL Team. I know exactly what separates the athletes who break through from the ones who stall and it starts younger than most parents think.

Athletes need to be able to do these three things!
Can you do all three?

Just because the athlete is strong, doesn’t mean fast. Some athletes have the ability to accelerate, but not the ability to change the direction very well. Some athletes may control their body very well, but they don’t have the ability to accelerate very well. Simply put, strength is only one part of Performance. That’s why we don’t just train at CDS, we test, we analyze and we focus on applying.

One thing I’ve learned overtime is that success in sports is never random. It comes from the Work athletes are willing to put in when no one else is paying attention. It comes from how the athletes respond when adversity strikes. What does your team do when things aren’t going their way and they are pushed outside of their comfort zone. I pay close attention to the small things. How an athlete shows up, how they communicate and how they support the people around them. The real discipline is in accountability and leadership. You get to a certain level where the talent is already there and what matters now is consistency and ex*****on. You win the day when you have the ability to stay locked in over a certain period of time. When athletes buy in and commit to the process, you will definitely start to see the momentum build. The real development happens before the scoreboard turns on.

A lot of athletes say they want to improve but growth requires more than just showing up. It requires focus, consistency and a will to learn. Our CDS kids are taking the proper approach.
At CDS, we hold athletes to a standard that helps them grow step by step. We focus on building strong movement foundations, developing confidence and creating habits that support long-term success.
For parents, this means your athlete is not just training harder, they are training smarter and developing in a structured supportive environment.
The simple things always give more 🤝

H:Q hamstring to quad ratio is not a perfect injury predictor by itself, but it’s a pretty important indicator of how well the athlete will produce, absorb and transfer force.
Adding in factors like landing mechanics really start to bring the hamstring to quad ratio into play for injury reduction metrics as a whole. I, myself suffered a hamstring injury when I was with the Atlanta Falcons. So much of the information that was available back then might not have been available to the players to actually see and visualize for insight. Now that there are software and other type of technologies we can help our athletes and parents understand the value of a neuromuscular profiling without overthinking it.
Most people have weak hamstrings

Basketball is just the vehicle!
Like Father, like son mentality means building habits, building discipline and building a standard that shows up without being asked.
This is the mentality I see and that shows up!
Welcome to the process.

Denmark HS Athlete: Liam Casado 2029

Power and explosiveness are not built overnight. They are developed through consistent, intentional work over time. Liam Davis plays tight end and defensive end for North View High School. Class of 2029 Just getting started!!
In the beginning, the progress shows up in small details. Liam’s stance becomes more stable. His first step becomes quicker. His hands become more precise and more violent with intent.
Session by session, he is learning how to use his body the correct way. Coach is proud of you, Liam.
Liam is learning how to generate force/apply force, how to move efficiently and how to explode with control instead of just being all intensity. I truly believe this is where real development takes place. WithIN the process is where progress happens!
