What does it mean to live coram Deo?

The phrase means "before the face of God" or "in the presence of God."

The Christian life is not merely believing that God exists. It is living with the conscious awareness that He is present, that He is Lord, and that every area of life belongs to Him.

As Abraham Kuyper wrote:

"He only is the real Christian, who in his own soul, personally, has been struck by the Majesty of the Almighty, and yielding to the overpowering might of His eternal Love, has dared to proclaim this majestic love, over against Satan, and the world, and the worldliness of his own heart, in the personal conviction of being chosen by God Himself, and therefore of having to thank Him and Him alone, for every grace everlasting."

May we live today coram Deo.

Happy 10-year Vine-iversary, Jordan 🎉

Yesterday, we had the joy of celebrating 10 years of faithful ministry from our Director of Worship, Jordan Crossland!

For the last decade, Jordan has served our church with joy, humility, creativity, hard work, and an incredible attention to detail. Through countless Sundays, rehearsals, and behind-the-scenes moments, he has faithfully helped lead our church to worship Jesus week after week.

He manages to bring both excellence and laughter wherever he goes, and we are so grateful for the way he serves and cares for this church family.

Earthly kingdoms fracture. Earthly leaders fail.
But there is a righteous King who never will.

This week, continuing in our 2 Samuel Series, Youth Pastor Artis Love reminded us that David’s response to evil pointed beyond himself to Jesus Christ, the true and perfect King.

Jesus does not ignore wickedness.
He does not compromise justice.
He does not abuse His power.
And unlike every earthly ruler, He will never betray or disappoint His people.

When standing for truth costs you something, trust the King.
When bitterness and revenge begin to take root, follow the King.
When the world feels chaotic, and justice seems delayed, remember this:

The righteous King reigns even now. 👑

🌍 Missions Monday

This summer, we’re excited to send a Short Term Missions Team from The Vine to serve alongside our missions partner, Amor Real Ministries, in Peru. 🇵🇪

Throughout the trip, the team will support the local church and Pat’s Place, a shelter for women, through a variety of outreach opportunities including serving at soup kitchens, building homes for families in the community, spending time with children through soccer and games, and sharing the hope of the Gospel through prayer, encouragement, and relationships.

As a church, we also have the opportunity to help support this mission by donating vitamins, cold medicines, and toiletry items for the team to bring with them. Donations can be dropped off in the Welcome Area through the end of June, and the full list of needed items can be found at https://go.thevinecc.com/peru

Please join us in praying for this team, for Amor Real Ministries, and for the people and families they will serve this July. 🤍

The kingdoms of this world rise and fall.
But there is one King whose reign will never end.

As we began our new series this Sunday in 2 Samuel, we saw how David pointed forward to the true and better King: Jesus. A King who did not seize power, but surrendered Himself on a cross. A King whose kingdom began like a mustard seed and is now spreading across the earth.

His victory is not fading.
His dominion is not ending.
And He still invites us: come and follow the Risen King. 👑

Today we remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to others. 🇺🇸

As we reflect this Memorial Day, we’re reminded that sacrificial love points us to the heart of the Gospel. Jesus Himself said, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” - John 15:13

We are grateful for those who served with courage and sacrifice, and even more thankful for the lasting hope we have in Christ, who gave His life so that we may truly live.

May today lead us to gratitude, humility, prayer, and remembrance.

What a day on the course! ⛳️

Our Annual Golf Tournament was incredible, and we are so thankful for every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, donor, and supporter who made it possible. Because of your generosity and participation, you helped support Hope Tree as we care for children and families at risk in our community through foster and adoption support.

Every swing, every sponsorship, every hour served, and every conversation shared helped make a difference far beyond the golf course.

Thank you for showing up, giving generously, and helping us continue building a church culture that supports children and families from hard places. We are grateful for each of you. 🤍

What does the Christian life actually look like day to day?
In our final sermon through Colossians, Pastor Tim walked through how the gospel shapes every area of life, from our marriages and families to our work, words, and witness.

“Whatever you do… make the best use of the time.”
The Christian life isn’t just for Sundays. It’s lived in conversations, relationships, workplaces, and everyday moments as we put off the old self and put on the new in Christ. ✨

🌍 Missions Monday

This spring, we’re partnering with The Place through a Food Drive to help meet practical needs in our community. 🛒🤍

Summer can be a difficult season for families when school meals are no longer available, and together we have the opportunity to help stock local pantry shelves with food and household essentials.

Drop off unopened, unexpired, shelf-stable items at The Vine through May 31.

Let’s continue loving our community in tangible ways. 🌿

The Vine Community Church is committed to serving children and families at risk in our community. Through Hope Tree and CarePortal, our church family is getting to step into real needs with real people across Forsyth, Dawson, Cherokee, and Gwinnett Counties. 🤍

Just in the first quarter of this year:
• 36 requests received
• 18 requests responded to
• 18 families served
• 29 children + 24 adults impacted
• $4,094 given by Vine responders

Behind every number is a story.
A family reunited.
A foster placement prevented.
A caregiver supported.
A student in foster care getting to attend prom.

We are so grateful for every person who has responded, donated, delivered items, prayed, and cared for families in our community. Every response makes a difference. 🌿
