Highlighting one of our longest standing Adopt-A-Road groups, the Knights of Columbus who have been cleaning Holtzclaw Road for 16 years. That's a lot of years and a lot of litter picked up! It's also a lot of comraderie as these guys always get together after the clean up to grill out and share some laughs at their outdoor clubhouse at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Did you know that there are 14 different species of frogs and toads in our County? Which are you seeing or hearing this summer?

Don't toss batteries in the trash or with recyclables. Improperly disposing of batteries can lead to fires.

Batteries can be recycled for free at any of the 3 County Recycling Centers (Tolbert St, Old Atlanta, Coal Mountain) though they do require proper preparation for safety. To learn more see https://www.keepforsythcountybeautiful.org/recycling-centers

Thank you for recycling right and recycling safely!

We love this Reuse Tuesday for our fellow cat lovers out there. All you need is a trip to Costco or BJ's to grab some matching boxes. And you'll save all that money you would've spent on expensive cat trees!

Have you heard about the hottest trend in North Forsyth County?....No, it's not building new subdivisions….it’s Meet Up and Clean Up!

Join us next Thursday, June 18 for a litter clean up on Namon Wallace Road. This is a lightly trafficked road with large safe grassy areas on either side so it would be appropriate for your home school group, civic group, group of friends, or just you!

Did you know that today is National Secure Your Load Day? Why is it important to secure your load? Anything that flies off a moving vehicle can be dangerous to other drivers and smaller items that fly out are at the very least, littering.

Check out these 5 steps and always secure your load as if someone you love is driving in the car behind you.

Thank you for keeping our roads safe and litter-free!

Notice the wet pavement?

So did our Adopt-A-Road group from Sonja's Loving Heart Foundation (Bear Mountain Custom Painting) let the rain stop them from doing their quarterly litter pick up on Mountain Road? No they did not!

Bravo! And many thanks to all of our litter clean up volunteers who brave the elements to help keep our County clean and beautiful!

Yes plastic bags are recyclable but not in your curbside recycling nor in the plastics bin at the County Recycling Centers. Instead they can be dropped off at most grocery and major retailers (bins are in front of the entrance or just inside in the front of the stores). Or if you participate in the Hefty Renew Program, plastic bags and plastic film can go in your orange bag.

Plastic bags tossed in with your other recycling can get caught in the gears of the machinery at the sorting facility, stopping production. Thank you for recycling right and helping keep the recycling process running smoothly!
