2024 Chevrolet Camaro SS. VR Magnuson Race++ build on a full LME LTR 427ci shortblock. This one arrived 16 weeks ago as a stock LT1 M6 making 410 rwhp it left making 1,258 wheel horsepower and 1,059 lb-ft of torque.

The foundation is an LME LTR 427-inch wet sump shortblock rated to 1,800 horsepower, topped with CID LT4 aftermarket casting cylinder heads, a Vengeance Racing custom camshaft with 38% fuel lobe upgrade, and a Kong Performance CNC-ported Magnuson TVS2650R pushed through a Nick Williams 112mm Gen V throttle body and a Vengeance Racing Big Power cold air intake.

Fuel delivery is handled by a DSX Atlas port injection system paired with Snow Performance triple pump, Injector Dynamics 1300cc injectors, and OEM GM LT4 high-pressure fuel pump, all calibrated on E85 flex fuel.

Exhaust exits through Kooks 2-1/8 inch headers into a 3-1/2 inch race system with a Borla ATAK axle-back. The TR-6060 was rebuilt to RPM Level VII spec. Suspension is sorted with Reaper coilovers front and rear. Rolling on Weld S71 beadlocks out back and Weld Front Runners up front.

This is what a VR street Camaro looks like when there are no compromises.

2010 Chevrolet Camaro LS9 | VR Stage 3 Supercharged.

This one came in with the LS9 and left making 724 rwhp and 677 rwtq on the dyno. The LS9 received a Kong Performance CNC ported C6 ZR1 supercharger with X port upgrade, solid coupler, billet hub, and 2.55" upper pulley, paired with a Nick Williams 103mm throttle body and PWR 87mm intercooler brick.

Vengeance Racing CNC ported LS9 cylinder heads went on with CHE precision bronze valve guides and polished dual valve springs. The valvetrain was rebuilt around the VR PD2 camshaft, Johnson 2110 hydraulic race lifters, and a Katech high capacity oil pump.

ARP 2000 head studs, ATI 14% overdrive balancer, and a complete DSX billet fuel rail with dual DW300 pumps and Injector Dynamics 1050cc injectors round out the engine package. A Monster S-Series triple disc clutch handles the power through the M6.

From the factory floor to 724 rwhp... long live the fifth-gen Camaro.

Jim came to us on a friend's referral. He'd owned cars, he'd modified cars, and he'd seen how these things usually go. First build with us was straightforward. When he decided to go further, full drivetrain, LME 427 LS Next with a Kong 2650, and more... he drove it back down from Pennsylvania.

Somewhere in the middle of it, a BCM went bad. Sometimes that happens on builds like this. What Jim points to isn't that it happened. It's that he got a straight answer and a plan the same day.

He's since run it on the Tail of the Dragon (the car makes 1, # # # wheel horsepower on E85...) with his son, and driven the car hard up and down the east coast.

Twenty years in, most of our work comes from people doing what Jim did: coming back.
