The countdown to the first day is on! 💙🦅

Today was filled with new faces, familiar smiles, and plenty of excitement as we welcomed our newest Hawks for Hawks Camp and opened our doors for Open House.

Thanks to everyone who joined us—we’re looking forward to an amazing school year! We can’t wait to see you Thursday! Go Hawks!

Congratulations to Katherine Bailey, one of our outstanding first-year teachers at Hendricks Middle School, on being selected as the Middle School recipient of the 2026–2027 Forsyth First-Year Teacher Grant! 🎉

This $500 grant will provide innovative coordinate plane resources that can be used across multiple grade levels, transforming traditional graphing lessons into engaging, hands-on learning experiences. By incorporating movement, collaboration, and visual learning, these resources will help students build a deeper conceptual understanding of mathematics while increasing confidence and participation in the classroom.

Mrs. Bailey's vision for making math more interactive, accessible, and memorable is a wonderful example of the creativity and dedication our teachers bring to Hendricks every day. We are incredibly proud of her commitment to fueling student learning and can't wait to see the impact these resources will have on our Hawks!

📣 Early Locker Day is tomorrow! 🎉

If your family purchased a 2026–2027 PTO Membership by the deadline and your student has a Hawks Pack, we'll see you Thursday, July 30, from 3:00–6:00 PM!

Students can get their locker assignment early, practice opening their locker, and get organized before the first day of school. Be sure to have proof of your PTO Membership and Hawks Pack purchases ready when you arrive. See the post below for more detailed information on this event. See you soon, Hawks!

Hey Hawks! Teachers and staff are working hard to prepare for Open House (7th & 8th Grade) and Hawks Camp (6th Graders)! Here's the info you need:
Hawks Camp and Open House Information:
Date: Monday, August 3rd
Event starts in the gym. Front doors open at 8:45 AM.
6th Grade Hawks Camp & Open House 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
8th Grade Open House 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM
7th Grade Open House 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM
What to Expect:
Students get class schedule and meet their teachers (Note: Locker set-up and class supplies will be handled on the 1st day of school)
Meet HMS Staff, learn about PTO, and drop medications at the clinic.
We can't wait to see you!
