Insane Roots
I am a plant enthusiast in Northern Indiana. If you like plants more than you like people- you're in the right place! Welcome! & Thanks for stopping by!
Well my prop box got too hot and I lost about half the cuttings....so I potted up what was left ...and then I cut up my indoor plants 😏😄 even my hoya kerrii!! Ifykyk 🫠 I can't wait to see them grow- it could take a whole year to see growth!
Most of the things I planted in peat pots...has perished 😆 That 🌞 sunshine is HOT! 😆 herbs....roasted, before I could even decide where to plant them 🤔 However, the tomatoes and strawberries are looking fantastic. Blueberries are alive and well.

I recently had to move out of my apartment that I was in for 15 years. Seeing these beautiful flowers pop, adds a little joy to my day. 🥰 iris are so stunning! I would be willing to sell rhizomes of them, if anyone is interested! Im not sure what to price them at so make an offer!

This is one of my first alocasias, and it is called a blue dragon. It is not variegated but I think the color and veins look awesome, so it remains one my favs. I have gotten corms from her once and It's almost time to check her for corms again!

I made this leaf cutting late fall, 2025. The og leaf worked on roots all winter AND it didn't give me any new leaves until now.. I'm not that mad that it took the plant so long to build this cutie.. 😍🤣 I love it so much.
The original plant was pretty big when I bought it. By time I sold it, it had leaves with double fenestrations. I never got to see any baby leaves really SIZE up.
Fun fact... The monstera plant that this leaf came from- was a big part of the inspiration for this page's name. Monsteras air roots are just..... Insane! ✨️
I have officially chopped my philo paraiso Verde into singular nodes...with the exception of a few doubles. I threw the pieces in my prop box and now I'll be praying over each piece to sprout. There's a plan, stay tuned.
The philo Joepii that I previously posted.. is giving me a new leaf. 🥰😇
Everything is growwwwiiiiinggg nicely! 🍃

I Planted sunflowers & tomatoes and done some planty chores/ corm care last night! I potted up 4 alocasia corms because their roots were fantastic! I gave a few other plants a repot as well! I got some morning glory seeds nicked and soaking! I can't wait to watch them all grow!
There was a time I took all my alocasia corms/pups out of moss because I DiDn'T lIkE mOsS.. 😅 I researched the purpose of using it, and after discovering that it reduces fungal/mold growth in moist conditions- i decided to give it another go.

Whale fin sanseveria
These run about $25-$35 a leaf. I would let em go for 20 a leaf, local pick up only. Its too cold to ship right now.
Very tall, loves light.. I've had them in my south facing window for about 4 years. They started leaning towards my grow light so I stuck them under their own grow light about 4 months ago. They get about 14 to 16 hours of light per day. This plant prefers most soil. In my experience, letting these dry out- stunts their growth. My house often reaches 30% humidity. I run humidifiers to try to keep my air around 60% humidity because most of my other plants like the humidity. This plant handles the fluctuations in humidity well.
