CuRvE board members met January 14th with Jackson County commissioners to discuss property acquisition for the Cullowhee river park. There was a consensus among commissioners to look into obtaining two pieces of property from NC DOT and WCU.

CuRvE in cooperation with Trout Unlimited, the University of Georgia, and American Rivers has deployed three water temperature monitors above and below the Cullowhee dam. The data from the monitors will provide information for American Rivers, TWASA, and Western Carolina University regarding water temperatures in these areas over a range of time.

The Cullowhee Small Area Plan Framework Plan presentation was this evening at WCU. Stewart, Inc, the design firm out of Raleigh hired by the county had some interesting ideas overlaid on an area map of old Cullowhee.
