Offering fulltime homeschool, dyslexia therapy, tutoring, and enrichment

Our mission is simple: to captivate students’ curiosity, strengthen their academic foundations, and equip them with the skills they need to thrive both in the classroom and in life.

One thing you’ll never hear at Captivate:

“I’m bored.” 😉

Our students aren’t sitting in desks filling out endless worksheets all day.

They’re building boats, cooking farm-to-table meals, caring for animals, designing bridges, conducting science experiments, creating art, solving problems, reading great books, strengthening math skills, and learning how to think for themselves.

From the moment they walk through our doors until the moment they leave, they’re engaged, challenged, and having FUN.

Because we believe learning should be active, hands-on, meaningful, and memorable.

The best part? Most of the time, they don’t even realize how much they’re learning because they’re too busy enjoying it. ❤️

That’s the Captivate difference. ✨

Today's Dragon Training Challenge was a success! 🐉🥚

Our young dragon trainers designed and built creative contraptions to protect a dragon egg from a big fall.

After testing each invention, we celebrated every engineer's hard work and creativity with a tiny dragon to take home as an official Dragon Trainer reward!

Then it was time to add a little magic to our kingdom! ✨🪄

Students created their very own magic wands before designing and crafting paper bag princesses, princes, and brave heroes. Each character was completely unique, giving students the opportunity to use their creativity, storytelling skills, and imagination to bring their enchanted kingdom to life.

From royal rulers to courageous adventurers, our classroom was filled with magical characters ready for their next great quest! 👑🏰🐉✨

🏰✨ Next up, our young engineers were given a royal mission!

The princess was stranded in her castle, and the only thing standing between our heroes and a successful rescue was a body of water. Using creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, students designed and constructed their own bridges and crossings to safely reach the castle.

They tested their designs, made improvements, and discovered that sometimes the best inventions come after a few failed attempts. Engineering, critical thinking, and a little bit of kingdom magic made this challenge a royal success! 👑🌉✨

✨ Chopping down bamboo for a magical day tomorrow! ✨

This week’s theme is Enchanted Kingdom, and we are ready to create some magic! 🏰🪄

Tomorrow’s three-hour adventure is packed full of wonder:

🎩 Hosting the Magician – Kicking things off with some jaw-dropping illusions and magical fun with Latham’s Dazzling Magic.

🌉 Bridge Building Challenge – Engineering sturdy bridges to help our kingdom travelers cross safely.

🧪 Potion Crafting – Mixing, measuring, and creating magical concoctions.

🐲 Dragon Training Academy – Testing our dragons’ skills through games and challenges.

In reading, we worked on beginning and ending blends, word building, and farm-themed vocabulary as we continued our Farmstead Frontier adventures. 🚜📚

During devotion, we talked about the importance of reaping what we sow and how our choices, actions, and attitudes matter each day. 🌱

In math, students practiced number matching with puzzles, strengthened their addition skills through card games, and built multiplication fact fluency using playdough for a hands-on learning experience. 🔢✨

So much growth, learning, and fun packed into one morning!

Next, our students rolled up their sleeves and prepared a farm-to-table meal! 🍳🥔🌾

Along the way, they learned the difference between store-bought eggs and farm-fresh eggs, compared russet potatoes to sweet potatoes, and discovered where so much of our food comes from.

They practiced important life skills like peeling vegetables, chopping vegetables, following directions, and working safely in the kitchen. And of course, they made a few messes along the way—which is usually a sign that real learning is happening! 😉

To finish it all off, we cooked our very own omelets in a bag and enjoyed the fruits of our labor. There’s just something special about preparing a meal with your own two hands and seeing all of your hard work come together. 🤎🍳👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Next up, we counted all kinds of farm animals and beans during our Counting Collections lesson, building number sense, one-to-one correspondence, and math confidence along the way! 🐄🌽

Students explored our farm-themed sensory bin filled with tractors, hay, and grass, encouraging imaginative play and hands-on learning. 🚜🌾

We read Otis and illustrated our favorite parts of the story, practicing comprehension, sequencing, and creative expression. 📚🎨

And one of the highlights of the day? Constructing life-size cows! 🐄 From measuring and assembling to adding all the details, students combined creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving to bring their cows to life.

Learning is always more fun when you can get your hands involved! 🤠✨
