Foster care is not always dramatic. Sometimes it is just sitting near a kid who is not ready to talk yet.

Its easy to get caught up in the sad part of child welfare and foster care. BUT, let me tell you the good parts.
- the parent that came up to us in Walmart and reintroduced us to the kid we helped reunify them with.
- the parent whose case ended in adoption, but still went to the volunteer and told them she was sorry for being so mean. The "tough love and harsh truth" made her realize she needed rehab. Shes in her kids life again.
- the free makeup and nail sessions from the little girl who wants to make sure we look beautiful.
- the baseball pitching with the little boy needing practice.
- Our teens GRADUATING.
- Prom dress/tux shopping.
- 1st day of college!
These are all things CASA gets to be a part of.
These are things YOU can be a part of.

We need volunteers!
I thought it would be important for some of us to share our “why” behind what we do. For the next couple of weeks we are going to share our stories with you.
For many of us, this is more than volunteering — it is a calling to stand beside children and families who need hope, encouragement, and someone willing to care. We do this because we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, heard, and supported.
Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness create the biggest impact. A few hours of your time, a listening ear, or simply showing up can help change the direction of someone’s life.
You may not realize it, but you could be part of someone’s healing story.
For opportunities to have Aly speak with your church, organizations or groups contact us via messenger or 256-287-7015.

We NEED volunteers! The number of children needing a steady advocate is not decreasing. Help us reach our goal that every abused/neglected kid will have an advocate!

As of May 2026, approximately 331,747 to 365,000 children are in the U.S. foster care system, with over 500,000 served throughout the year. Neglect is the primary reason for placement (62%), and roughly 15,000 to 20,000 youth age out annually without permanent family connections.
