You're invited! One week from today we're having our annual Back to School Bash on the Husmann Elementary School playground! Bring a blanket, snacks and a yard game to share. There will be food trucks (’D Stix and Noodles and Kona Ice) available for purchase, music and games! 530-730pm, we hope to see you all there!

Celebrated the first official day of school by treating our staff to doughnuts, fruit and coffee for breakfast, pizza and salads for lunch, a stocked drink fridge and snacks to get them through the first week!

PS: thank you so much to Moth & Moon Co for the beautiful mural and overall refresh of the lounge and to Heady Cup Coffee Roasters for the new coffee maker and fresh coffee grounds to brew!!

Had a few helpers start our Chalk the Walk today! See you all tomorrow at meet the teacher/supply drop off!

Tomorrow during meet the teacher/supply drop-off, we'll be selling Pencil-Grams at our PTO table in the front hall, by the office! You can buy one for $1 and write an encouraging message to your cougar to celebrate the new school year! We'll be delivering these on Wednesday morning (and Thursday for Kindy!). 💜💛

Dear Husmann families,,

Thank you for allowing me to serve as the president of HPTO for the past four years. Thank you for supporting the HPTO when things went well and for pivoting with us when they didn’t quite go as planned. To anyone who donated their funds, ideas, listening ears, or ideas over these past four years, THANK YOU!

Because of the support from the amazing board members I worked with, the Husmann team, and the support from our community, each year brought more excitement to be a part of HPTO. It has been the greatest experience I could’ve asked for and has made me realize I can do hard (and fun) things with support from incredible people.

I am grateful to have been a part of planning things from staff appreciation to family fun nights and everything in between and even more grateful to serve in a building with an admin team that believes in the power of building a community through the PTO. I have learned that we have wonderful, supportive families at Husmann who love our staff dearly. I wish nothing but success to our incoming board members. Please welcome them with open arms as they continue the goal of building a bridge between Husmann staff and families.

It’s a beautiful day for our fifth grade Buddy Burners event, and the kids are so excited! If you signed up to bring an item but didn’t have a chance to drop it off, please drop it off at VA before 11:00 today. Thank you for all the donations!

Joe + Dough will be set up for open house this week for our last dining for dollars event of the school year. Have dinner before you come, and grab a sweet treat while you’re there!

Husmann’s staff has been “traveling” the world this week for staff appreciation week, and to add to the fun, Friday is dress like a tourist day! We’d love to see all our Cougars get involved, but it is 100% optional.
