Our Saints Robotics Blue Team is now in Niagara and actively competing at the Canada Cup of Robotics! 🇨🇦

Held at Brock University and Canada Games Park, this incredible international event brings together thousands of students from 27 countries for a one-of-a-kind FIRST robotics championship. Through FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), these young innovators are putting their creativity, coding, and problem-solving skills to the test.💡

But this experience is about so much more than robots. It’s about teamwork, critical thinking, and rising to challenges in real time. It’s about building confidence, forming friendships across cultures, and representing something bigger than themselves.🤩

Our Blue Team is not only representing St. Michael School… they are proudly representing Louisiana on a global stage! 💙💛🔥

Our Saints Are Golden in California! ☀️🤖

Our St. Michael School Saints Robotics Gold Team has officially returned home from the Western Edge Invitational in Long Beach, California! While they didn’t bring home a trophy this time, they gained something even more valuable—unforgettable experiences, new friendships, and the opportunity to compete on a global stage. 🌎💡

Our students went head-to-head with teams from across the United States and over 40 countries, representing not only St. Michael School but the great state of Louisiana with pride and determination! 💙💛

One of the most meaningful moments came during judging, when our team was asked to quietly reflect on their coaches and support system. Hearing them speak about the encouragement and dedication of their teachers was truly special—and a reminder of what makes our school community so strong.

A special thank you to Mr. Tim, who not only coaches the Saints Robotics Team, but inspires our students to think outside the box and always aim for the stars through teamwork. 🚀

Join St. Michael School in celebrating the Ordination to the Priesthood of Deacon Cole Zaunbrecher! ✝️

A native of Roberts Cove and a proud alumnus of St. Michael School, Cole has faithfully followed God’s call from his early years to this sacred vocation.

THIS SATURDAY! Join us for a joyful and historic celebration as the Diocese of Lafayette gathers for the Ordination to the Priesthood of five of our transitional deacons.

The Rite of Ordination to the Holy Priesthood will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. The Most Reverend Douglas Deshotel will celebrate the Mass and confer the Sacrament of Holy Orders through the laying on of hands and the Prayer of Ordination. All are invited to attend this beautiful liturgy as these men offer their lives in service to Christ and His Church.

Those to be ordained are:

Deacon Francis Xavier Gyles is a native of Meaux and a graduate of North Vermilion High School (2016). He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Joseph Seminary College and a Master of Divinity from Notre Dame Seminary. He is the son of James and Pamela Gyles.

Deacon Evan Hebert, raised in Rayne and a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Crowley (2018). He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Joseph Seminary College and a Master of Divinity from Notre Dame Seminary. He is sponsored by St. Joseph Church in Rayne and is the son of Phillip and Kimberly Hebert.

Deacon Bret Lee, a native of Esther and graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School in Abbeville (2017). He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Joseph Seminary College and both a Master of Divinity and Bachelor of Sacred Theology from Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. Sponsored by St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville, he is the son of Al and Leisa Lee.

Deacon Stephen Melancon, raised in Parks and a graduate of John Paul the Great Academy in Lafayette (2018). He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Joseph Seminary College and a Master of Divinity from Notre Dame Seminary. He is sponsored by St. Joseph Church in Parks and is the son of Margaret and the late Randal Melancon.

Deacon Cole Zaunbrecher, a native of Roberts Cove and graduate of Notre Dame High School in Crowley (2018). He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Joseph Seminary College and a Master of Divinity from Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. Sponsored by St. Leo IV Church in Roberts Cove, he is the son of Quentin and Roxanne Zaunbrecher.

Please continue to pray for these men as they prepare to be ordained priests for the Diocese of Lafayette. All are welcome to attend. Seating may be limited, so please plan accordingly.

🦋 A beautiful lesson in patience and wonder!

Our St. Michael School PreK4 students, guided by Mrs. Caitlin and Mrs. Amy, had the incredible experience of raising butterflies from tiny caterpillars. 🐛➡️🦋 The class eagerly watched as the caterpillars formed their cocoons—and just before the school year came to a close, something amazing happened!

Right before the last day of school, the butterflies finally emerged, giving our students the special opportunity to witness their transformation and celebrate their release into nature together. 🌼

A touching reminder of growth, transformation, and the beauty of life. 💙💛😇

The St. Michael School Saints Tennis Team finished their season competing at a high level, with several Saints advancing all the way to the league championships! Every player showed up ready to compete, fight for every match, and grow in skill, confidence, and sportsmanship throughout the season.

A huge thank you to our incredible coaches for the time, dedication, and support they poured into our athletes—on and off the court! 🙌
