Every recipe at Bread.Butter Bakery was created with love, and every dessert has a story behind it.

As I prepare to close this chapter and begin a new one, I find myself thinking back to where it all started.

Many years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child, I wanted beautiful decorated sugar cookies for my baby shower. The problem was, I couldn’t afford them. So I decided to make them myself.

They were terrible.

But I kept trying. I made them again and again until they finally turned out the way I wanted. Then friends and family started asking for them, and I thought, “Maybe I should sell them.”

At the time, I just wanted to help people celebrate their special moments with custom cookies. I started posting my creations on Marketplace, and the community in Crestview showed me incredible support. I believe I was one of the few people offering decorated sugar cookies in the area then. Through word of mouth, orders continued to grow.

That support changed my life.

Later, I began offering macarons and hot chocolate creations. Some of you here today may remember buying those treats when I was still baking from my home kitchen. Every order, every message, every recommendation to a friend helped me take one step closer to my dream.

Because every small purchase mattered. Every transaction helped build what Bread.Butter Bakery would become.

At just 22 years old, during COVID, I signed my first commercial lease with a dream. At that time, I didn’t have much to sell besides sugar cookies and macarons. I didn’t even know how to frost a cake.

Then construction delays kept the store from opening for nearly a year. Instead of giving up, I used that time to learn.

Many of our most-loved recipes were inspired by the people I love most.

My dad’s favorite cookie was strawberry. So I created a strawberry gooey cookie. Then he told me he loved peanut butter, so I created a peanut butter version too.

One day, my mom offered me a slice of her red velvet cake. I wasn’t even a big cake person, but she told me red velvet had always been her favorite. So I went home and created my own red velvet cookie and red velvet cake. Years later, they’re still on our menu and continue to be customer favorites.

Many other recipes were inspired by customers. Someone asked for gluten-free options, so I worked on creating gluten-free cakes and cookies. Every request challenged me to learn something new.

That’s why I can honestly say Bread.Butter Bakery would not exist without all of you.

Your ideas inspired new products.
Your support helped us grow.
Your trust gave me confidence to keep creating.

And when I talk about Bread.Butter Bakery, I also have to talk about the people who worked beside me.

I never liked calling them employees.

I always called them my team.

Because I never wanted to be anyone’s boss. I wanted to be part of a team where we could support one another, learn together, and grow together.

To every team member who has been part of this journey, thank you.

Whether you worked here for a few months or several years, whether you’re still here today or moved on long ago, I remember the moments we shared. I remember the busy holidays, the long nights, the early mornings, the laughter, the challenges, and the victories.

Bread.Butter Bakery would not be what it is without you.

As I prepare to move on to my next chapter, I leave with a heart full of gratitude.

Thank you to every customer who purchased a cookie, a macaron, a cake, or a drink.

Thank you to every team member who stood beside me.

Thank you to my family for believing in me.

And thank you, Crestview, for allowing a young woman with a dream, a few sugar cookies, and a lot of determination to build something special.

Bread.Butter Bakery was never just about desserts.

It was about people, memories, celebrations, and love.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

I will never forget it.

As the time gets closer, it’s getting harder for me.

Lately, I’ve been staying more in the back, because I’m afraid if I come to the front and see all of you, my heart will make it harder for me to let go.

This place, this journey, and all of you have meant so much more to me than I can easily put into words.

There will be more to share—my journey is not ending here, it is simply continuing into a new chapter.

There isn’t much time left for us to talk and make more memories together, but what we’ve shared already means so much to me.

Later in my life, I will always remember who you are. You are not just my customers—you are my friends, my community, and my family here!

New addiction: creating sourdough. 🥖✨ There’s something so satisfying about watching flour, water, and time turn into a beautiful loaf.
