Red Brick Poetry seeks to daily connect people with the power of poetry. Red Brick also teaches poetry classes and runs poetry readings.

This is accomplished with a beautifully painted unique poetry box filled with free loose-leaf poems and books outside my home, or in a museum, or coffee shop, or elsewhere. In addition there is now a book bench down from the original poetry box so folks can have access to free books. "Whenever you are creating beauty around you, you are restoring your own soul." We all need to take steps to pray. Maybe we pray all the time maybe we don’t. Maybe it’s intermittent. Maybe you think it’s bunk.
Maybe you meditate.
I believe your life matters.
I can’t listen to everyone that comes by or pray for all of you individually but I can give you a chance to physically express yourselves in prayer.
I made a mini prayer line. Feel free to say a prayer, then tie a strip of cloth that represents your prayer on the line and commit it.
The steps are a backdrop on purpose.
This is the first iteration of this idea.
I put the first one on.
I’m working on providing cloth later so for now you’ll need to bring one.

In addition to books and literature I am a flag lover. There will be a parade of different flags leading up to July 4th.
Today’s flag? I’m very excited to say I finally was able to purchase this one and I’m ultra geeked.
This is a replica of the
1st Pennsylvania Rifles Flag.
These guys were certified badasses.

Noted for their unique rifles and ability to shoot double the distance of the standard muskets with extreme accuracy. There were 9 companies and they served at 11 battles between 1775-1783. They started as light infantry then became special services—some of the first in our military history.
Their slogan was Domari Nolo— I will not be subjugated.

Thank for your support and generosity with this project. The mini food pantry is packed and we’ve got a lovely selection of books.
From now until after July 4th there will be copies of the Declaration of Independence in the libraries and poetry box so please take a copy and have a read.
We read it out loud as a family every 4th.

Great day for a poem! It’s quite a robust offering out there right now from summer poems, to Father’s Day, to gardening poems, to poems on regret and nature and the poetry books themselves are varied. It will be in there the next few weeks.
